Hello, I need a help, did anyone test the different between XL2546S and XL2546, does it worth getting the XL2546S (with 200$ more than without "s" version)? Much appreciate it.

i see some people here arguing about 25 vs 27 inch 1080P i currently have a 22 inch 1080P and im thinking if i want my next monitor to be 25 (xl2546S)or 27 inch(XG270).. I have to move it pretty close to my face to really enjoy it. If i had 27 inch 1080P, and i moved it farther away.. wouldnt the pixel density feel similar anyway? I'd rather have it farther away anyway. If you have 27 inch vs 25 inch 1080P, and the pixel density bothers you, can't you just move it away from yourself 1-3 inches? am i missing something?
Nope you’re not missing anything because all you have to do is move the 27” panel 2” back to get the same optimal view as a 25” that’s 2” closer at 1080p. The difference in dpi is so small that it’s not even worth talking about and IMO makes the 27” a no brainer unless one has very limited desk space.
It doesn't work like this. In theory this method makes sense, but in reality the pixels are farther away and therefore more difficult to see. 27" is too big for your eyes to see everything on screen, and I can often observe this with my friends that have 27 inch monitors and miss enemies on the corners when spectators spot them.

I've owned multiple monitors up to 27" I've been playing FPS games for 20+ years - 25inch is definitely more comfortable for me, and lots of gamers to see the whole screen while not having to push the display further away.

where are you seeing this $200 price difference. zowie isnt even selling 2546, and amazon doesnt even care 2546S yet, only 2546 and its $500, same price as the new one

I am sorry I didn't explain. The xl2546s is not available locally in my country but it would cost me with shipping around 579$-599$ but the xl2546 is available locally for 435$ including shipping cost.

It works exactly like the way I and others described. What you're saying is just personal opinion. I have the 27" xl2746s and it's very comfortable to use, more than a 25.6" version but gain, that's opinion. But when talking about dpi and viewing distance, it's a matter of 2" between the two sizes.

Of course, pushing the monitor back gives the same effect, but some people are just used to 24/25" and having it a certain distance.

All personal preference of course, but I refuse to accept that Windows looks better blown up on a 27" at 1080p.

Saying it's personal preference is perfectly fine. But claiming 8 dpi is somehow a big difference is just not true, especially when pushing a 27" back 2" makes up that difference easily. I have my XL2746S mounted on the wall and so it gives me enough depth when I sit at my desk in front of it to look the same as a 25" would if it were sitting on my desk. However, the difference in my experience is I can see enemies better w/a 27" vs a 25" in games and I don't have to sit up in front of my display in an uncomfortable position like a lot of pro players do when you see them streaming.

This makes me wonder, the BenQ has different display modes. Wouldn't using the 24" display mode on the 27" yield the same effect? I'm currently debating between the two. I prefer 27" for everything but gaming. Has any given display modes a try to see how it is?

From what I understand pixels are physically bigger on 27/1080p monitor than 24/1080p. So if you scale to 24" mode it won't look as good as on real 24" monitor.
