Honestly, I think the pg278q was a better panel than this xl2746s tbh. Especially the pg279q, input lag felt even better on that with gsync and it was 1440p tn... I am a competitive player and I notice everything. I do well with the xls panel but imo it is not that great. It does look decent calibrated with dirty scrubz's setup though. Imo the best panels I try are always the acer predator panels.. I just ordered the x35 and curious to see how that performs on OD 2ms.. it is tested extremely low for input lag 2-4ms..the z35 was the best panel besides the pg278q that I have tried really believe it or not yes even for competitive play the ultra wide panel has its benefit with wide fov angles you see more enemies to your side.. as long as the input lag is low ofc UW is good.

The vertical viewing angles of the XL2546S are incredibly bad, something which i don't remember being the case with the XL2546 which i've also owned.
In order to have one reference: in your opinion, viewing angles is like XL2540 in Rtings review, or worst ?

Review say the most noticeable uniformity issue is just what you say, very bad viewing angles, especially vertical.

Ill hopefully get 2546s soon enough. I kinds feel hard to believe its all that bad viewing angles deviating from standards or underperforming against ips or even ultrawide. I mean...just no. I refuse.

I made a reddit post about if almost a month ago over here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comme ... l_viewing/

tl;dr when looking at the monitor straight forward from a meter and a half away, the screen uniformity is amongst the worst i've ever seen. It actually bothers me too much when trying to use this monitor normally. The top half of the display is darker and more green-ish, the bottom half is a lot brighter and more blue-ish (and nope this is not a backlight issue).

I didn't think viewing angles was something that could be part of the panel lottery, but i've rma'd my monitor anyways and today i've received a replacement and nope.
Exact same hideous vertical viewing angles.

Buyers beware.

In general, it seems to me that it is built on the old matrix, I was just surprised when I turned it on, similar to the awful aw2518hf, there, to solve the problem with ghosts, you had to set it to cru 239.773hz, in 2546s this value is already in the settings, which is very strange and pushes for certain thoughts, even these blue stripes on the sides

Ok so i'm going to eat up my words here...

My first impression after receiving the replacement monitor were that the viewing angles were just as bad as the XL2546S i've RMA'D.
However after using it for a while and fiddling with the color settings it seems that it is actually okay to use. Sure the screen uniformity still isn't the best but the vertical viewing angles actually are not that bad as the monitor i sent back to BenQ. There still is some colour and brightness difference between the top half and bottom half of the monitor, but it really doesn't bother me when using the monitor normally.

At my first impression from a couple of hours ago, i think i was focussing too hard on it, which for myself i think made it look worse then it actually is.

I'm pretty content with the monitor now. However since i'm certain that the first XL2546S which i've owned had way worse vertical viewing angles, i can only advice buyers to immediately check on screen uniformity (backlight and viewing angles), and if you think it's out of specification, i'd advice to send the monitor back.
