Are there any other screens using this same panel at the moment that also have strobing?

Oh Yuck.
That's double strobing. 100% double strobing.

Is there an option in either the "Service Menu" or the "Factory menu" to enable single strobe?

Service menu:
Power off, hold button #4 while powering on, release button 4 after screen appears, press button to enter service menu.
Factory menu:
Power off, hold button 3+4 while powering on, release button 3+4 after screen appears, press button (usually 4, unless it's different) to enter factory menu.

I'll be skipping this monitor, then otherwise.
Not that I saw but here's the screens:

I absolutely LOVE how there's a nice little empty slot there for a "Single Strobe: On/Off".
Chief :(:(:(:( Please help. Chief !!!!!!!

I'll try to create an optimal DyAC profile at 100 Hz when I have some time later and record it and see how it turns out. So far the behavior I've observed w/this display is DyAC actually looks more clear at higher refresh rate than it does lower.
Thanks
One thing I did notice is at 100 Hz/120 Hz I get lots of crosstalk no matter what AMA/Dyac setting I use. I don't know if this is intentional or a firmware bug.
Any more adjustments to check ?
Tested tweaks at 100-120 with BlurBusters Utility ?
Tested the two menu service strobing related tweaks ? or these two entries are read only ?
Not sure if this is what you're looking for but it's pretty terrible at 60 Hz: https://youtu.be/kQjSRBsyZb0
Double Strobe is unbearable.

[ OFF TOPIC ]
Here are pursuit camera screenshots comparing 280Hz single strobe ASUS VG279QM Vs CRT monitor. CRT is rock solid in motion smoothness, almost like static image, no artifacts, except small trail due to phosphor decay.

One ugly, cheap, +15 years used CRT monitor, beating modern gaming LCD in motion smoothness, very dissapointing, we better take it with humor

If gaming monitor manufactures want beat CRT, move to MicroLED, nanosecond response times, motion issues fixed, massive sales assured !!

No I haven't messed with it yet as I'm not sure what some of the service menu entries do and I don't want to mess something up. I'll wait on someone more experienced to play with it.

Yeah fortunately I don't have a need for lower refresh rate strobing else I'd be disappointed. I guess console players or those that use console emulation will want to pick a different monitor that has single strobing.

Yup, I'm in my early 40s and grew up with CRT gaming (had the famed Sony FW900 at one point) so these LCDs are a very big step down with motion clarity although this XL2746S comes very close. I've been very impressed with the backlight strobing of this display, it looks miles better than that Asus VG279QM display you linked above.

Now keep in mind YouTube introduces compression artifacts and the camera doesn't perfectly capture what I see. In person, this thing has almost no visible crosstalk/overshoot and is butter smooth, I'm very impressed w/this monitor so far. I had a Gigabyte Aorus KD25F before that I returned because it had terrible BFI and input lag:

Very good pursuit camera run!

And very good observation. Yes, indeed YouTube adds compression artifacts. That said, your handwave track is relatively good (Youtube frame step keys "," and "." to find best Sync Track -- 3 tickmarks is even better than 2 tickmarks).

Exposure is relatively well balanced but compression artifacts definitely obscure.

It certainly looks good for 182 Hz strobing; getting uniformly low crosstalk at higher refresh rates is extremely hard for any panel. I would enjoy seeing clearer originals though with fewer recompress artifacts.

YouTube is good for the education of video pursuit and approximation-in-motion -- but can also find good freezeframe locally to skip the recompression-artifacts. You could single-frame-step locally, screenshot your favourite freezeframe (find the freeze frame with the straightest www.testufo.com/ghosting Sync Track with fewest tickmark misalignments). Optional though, but it bypasses the YouTube recompress step at least...

Thanks! I will have to give that a try. I might also find a download site that will host the uncompressed video file so people can download it and view it locally if they wish to see it.

BTW, do you have any idea if I could enable single strobing in that service menu? I'm not very familiar with BenQ service menus nor do I know enough to know what to look for.

Edit: Here's a snapshot image I took from the raw video file. It's a pretty good approximation of how it looks the entire time but in person I'd say it's even slightly cleaner than this. Like I said, I'm very impressed with the DyaC+ they built w/this new generation panel, even when gaming w/it on there's no discernible input lag hit.

In the subforum section dedicated to BenQ Zowie monitors, there are gamers that use Zowie since years and can solve doubts about service menu: viewforum.php?f=13

About picture quality, is better use .png , is lossless compression. If pursuit is made in photo mode, and shot .raw or .png output, is the best quality your camera can do. If only can select .raw in the camera, with software free like GIMP can be converted to .png without any loss.

If capture .jpg from .mp4 (or any other lossy video compression), picture accumulate both lossy compressions. Paused original video or .png from it is better.

Anyway, the quality of all yours uploads are enought to see the well know LCD motion artifacts. This monitor is very fast, is obvious.

Hope you can get 100 and 120 Hz 100% crosstalk-free with service menu and BlurBusters App tweaks, maybe not all games can maintain minimun 182FPS, for instance recent games with max Raytracing settings, or see 1080p60 streaming with 120Hz single strobed and software BFI, the best "smooth feel" way to see these streams SmoothVideo Project

I get the impression that this monitor have possibilities to do it, due to very low crosstalk at 182 Hz, and is not ugly dimmed !

This can only be achieved with very fast 100% GtG transitions, very short strobe lenght, and a very powerfull backlight to compensate the heavy brightness loss with very short strobe lenght we see in others monitor.

If strobing could be fine tweaked, maybe occurs that the small crosstalk we see in your 182Hz captures, fully dissappears at 100/120, due to GtG is enoung fast to complete 100% transition at thesee 10 and 8.33ms refreshrate, 182Hz is 5.49ms

I'm not a fan of TN due mainly to atrocious vertical viewing angles, but if this issue can be assumed as collateral damage, this monitor is very fast !

I hope good news !! Image

Just want to reiterate how amazing this monitor has been since I bought it. While $700 is a tall ask for a 1080p 240 hz monitor in the year 2020, this was totally worth it for me and my use case (FPS games like warzone/apex). DyAc+ is SUPER bright and the motion reminds me of my old Sony FW900 except w/sharper visuals. No noticeable input lag with DyAc turned on too, this thing is very well put together.

Solo plunder this morning playing casually w/dyac turned on, headshots were a cakewalk:

Looks nice.

I would buy this monitor if there were a way for me to "Trick" it into single strobing at 60hz. But I assume if there isn't a way to trick it on an XL2720Z (even though the XL2720Z has a single strobe option, I mean with it set to double strobe at 60-85hz), then that wouldn't work here either :( I guess my wait continues... :(
