XL2420Z V2 FIRMWARE on Amazon.com? EDIT: NEVERMIND

Post by TwentyFoe » 16 Apr 2014, 14:37

I noticed the price is now 390$, used to be about 355$ IIRC.

Is it possible that they got rid of their V1 and are now selling V2?

I couldn't verify it anywhere. Would be cool if anyone could confirm this, or give us some lead ^_^
(although I might buy directly from BENQ.com, because it is cheaper [specifically for me, because there I can choose a longer, yet much cheaper delivery cost])

EDIT:
my bad, actually. The price is still 350$. I was looking at another seller.

I think it was $299 with that BlurBusters discount. But I don't recall ever seeing it that low. And to be perfectly honest I thought that was the XL2411Z

Dude I had no clue what you were talking about, so I re-read my post and realized I made a typo. It was ~355$, not 255$, obviously.

Actually, that's the BENQ coupon (not BlurBusters specific) -- there is the XL2411Z on BENQ's Online Store for $299 that already includes V2 firmware on all shipments directly from BENQ's online store. It's listed at $319, but when checking out, the price falls to $299 when entering the coupon GAMER$20 (still valid as of the time of this writing, April 2014). That's pretty close to the cheapest 120Hz monitor, while having much better colors than LightBoost (no crimson tint, no gamma bleach effect)

However, BENQ's store only sells to US, while you can get XL2411Z on Amazon in many countries (UK, Germany, Canada, etc). I have heard of reports of users getting V2 monitors in Canada when ordering from Amazon (via units handled & shipped by Amazon themselves, rather than a reseller), but right now there is still no guarantee you will get V2 when ordering from Amazon. You can however, still do the DIY upgrade if it ends up being a V1 monitor.
