Best 240hz to buy rn?

Post by morganxwolfs » 04 Mar 2020, 09:05

Heya.
So am coming from AOC24g1 144hz 24inch 1080p Curved VA Panel that I've been using for a year, 1 month ago I recently upgraded my pc to this rig:

32 gb ram 3200 mhz ( 16 x 2 )
RTX 2070 Super
Ryzen 5 3600

And I've been thinking of an upgrade to my monitor aswell, mostly I play games like Apex Legends, Overwatch, League of legends, Black squad & might start going hard into Valorant when its released.

So I'm not really that much of a "pro" shooter, I consider myself an all rounder, yet the super decent image quality isn't really something I care about that much, I prefer super clear image rather than anything honestly.

So, should I upgrade into one of the decent 1080p TN panels like the Benq XL2546, or should I buy something like the MSI251RX 1080p IPS?

Will the lack of features like the DyAC really bother me much with the IPS panel, will there be a lot of blur, or is it worth sacrificing "some" blur or clarity for a huge difference in picture quality?
In fact, is there really a huge difference in picture quality from a super decent TN panels like the XL2546 or the AW2518Hf, XB252Q etc and a mediocre / cheaper ips like the MSI251RX?

Thanks a lot and sorry for the long ass post <3

Everything you ask has already been answered here and discussed in great length. Just read around. It’s kind of pointless to copy paste the same answers and anecdotes over and over again... Especially when they get asked almost every every single day.

In terms of speed

2nd gen 240hz TN > 240hz IPS > 1st gen 240hz TN

So no all the TN monitors you mentioned above are meh.

Wait until the updated XL2546 is out aka XL2546S, buy that and call it a day.
