Am I missing the settings and ICC-profile on that link? I scrolled it a few times and I only see the tests.
It's under Post Calibration settings: https://ibb.co/nwn5wSC

Thank you. They recommend a brightness of 17? Seems insanely low. The defaults run it between 70 and 80. I turned it to 17 and it is way too dim.

What are you running it at?

Is there actually any downsides to this monitor at 280hz vs 240hz? People mentioning it can't handle 280hz or more input lag?
If I'm playing at 200-240fps just keep it on 280hz or 240 with OD120?

VG259QM owners, try Racing Mode RGB to 96-95-100, this is giving me good results in terms of color accuracy.
I'm still looking for an icm profile tho..

FPS mode and RTS mode are good to watch Anime or play games but the color deviation is imo way too much.
I will try it tomorrow ty. What's ur other settings?
240hz OD60, Adaptive Sync ON (Cap at 235fps), ShadowBoost OFF, Brightness 90 and Contrast 80.
I was considering trying SoftMCCS to see if it was possible to increase sharpness in software without using Vividpixel since I want to avoid post processing.

OR

280hz OD80, Adaptive Sync OFF, ELMB-Sync ON, ShadowBoost OFF, Brightness 60 and Contrast 80.
Strobing at 280hz>>>>>Strobing at 240hz, 280hz strobing is basically perfect with very low input lag, however I wouldn't mind OD60 even at 280hz...

I was considering trying SoftMCCS to see if it was possible to increase sharpness in software without using Vividpixel since I want to avoid post processing( nope, sharpness and gamma are hidden)

Edit 1: I'm using Asus' VG259QM icm profile

Edit 2: I'm RUNNING 240hz 10 bit on the VG259QM!!!
I was trying to follow this guide (had to remove the URL link to youtube apperenly)
I opened CRU, I clicked on the (active) profile and deleted the main detailed resolution, mine was 1920x1080 60hz.
I was trying LCD Reduced 240hz, after setting it and clicking on restart64 in the CRU package it didn't work and CRU automatically set it from LCD reduced to Manual for some reason.
To my surprise both the monitor OSD and W10 are currently saying that the monitor is running at 240hz 10bit and I'm already noticing a good improvement in colors, which is something I wasn't expecting.
It used to automatically revert to 8 bit after I set it to 10 bit in the Amd Radeon Software, I'll try to restart the PC and see if it retains 10 bit colors.

Edit 3: Yes, it does retain the settings, this is great! I took a screenshot if you guys want to copy the settings I'm using and try it yourself

I watched some 10 bit content with MPC-Be+MadVR (I pressed CTRL+J to make sure D3D11 and P010 are 10 bit) and I must say that 10 bit truly turn this monitor colors on Racing mode from a 7/10 to a 9/10.
Racing Mode + 10 bit + icm profile is finally showing the potential of this panel.

Edit 4 Final: 10bit 280hz doesn't work but making a detailed resolution seems snappier idk why.
Hi! Thanks for amazing review and going through the settings. I was close of buying the MSI MAG251RX which is around 120 euro more expensive where i live, but then i read that these have the exact same panel, but one does support 10bit directly from the box. If i wouldnt have stumbled across your post, then i would've never bought the ASUS!

Question, do you still use 10bit forced color through CRU? Or did you have to turn it off due to any noticable drawbacks in terms of input lag or higher G2G response time? :)

There are no drawbacks from using 10bit.

Isn't it strange that if there are no drawbacks Asus doesn't advertise this monitor as 10-bit color and allows the users to set it easily?

And I'm thinking the same of OD 120.

Hi guys, sorry for bringing the monitor back to discussion.

Do Shadow Boost Dynamic Adjustment adds input latency? Thats a question i've been doing to myself for quite some time.

Highly unlikely. It's just part of the normal processing the monitor does already (like figuring out colors, gamma, etc,) which has a fixed latency. "Shadow boost" is most likely just an adjustment to that processing, not something that runs as an extra step on top.

Thanks for answering me before

I'm having a problem on trying low resolutions on my VG279QM, where anything above 720p and lower then 1080p gets really glitchy on the screen. I'm using CRU for the tests and have tried every option that doen't exceed my monitors pixel clock. I'm trying not to use GPU Scale because the screen gets blurry.

That is very unusual to me and I'm trying to find an explanation and a fix to that problem.
