The amount of sharpening to apply depends on the resolution. I have a 1440p monitor, and for playing at 1080p on a Maxwell GPU for example, I found out that 36% or 38% results in the same subjective sharpness as a native 1440p image. For other resolution and other GPUs (for example NVidia Turing GPUs introduces a new GPU upscaler that is sharper) you need different values.

You can find out the needed sharpening amount yourself by simply taking a screenshot of a game running at native res first, then enable sharpening in your driver control panel for the game's profile (and only the game's profile, do not ever use global sharpening.) Then switch the game to the lower resolution you want. Then alt+tab between the game and the screenshot (make sure you view the screenshot in fullscreen mode and unscaled) and compare the sharpness of both. It's gonna take a bit of time, but once you find out the perfect sharpening amount, you can use that for all games that use that specific resolution.
Thanks for being supportive. I'll try that.

Just to be sure, you know if it adds latency? I'm on a GTX 1660 Ti and haven't noticed any latency difference anyways.

I've never observed any differences between native resolution and GPU upscaled resolution. That doesn't mean there isn't any, it just means if there is any, it's not noticeable. Same goes for display scaling, btw, but that depends on each monitor of course.

In general, an upscaler circuit only needs a few scanlines worth of data to operate on. And that in turn means that scaling latency is most probably in the tenths of a millisecond. Could be 0.1ms or 0.2ms. This is just an educated guess though. I'm not aware of any actual tests out there that tried to pinpoint the exact impact scaling has on latency. But since I've never been able to feel any difference, even back in the day where I was playing CS:GO non-stop, it's safe to say any latency difference is completely negligible.

Maybe we should petition BNS on youtube to finally test this  (https://www.youtube.com/user/xFPxAUTh0r1ty)

I just asked in his Community tab and on the last video. Let's see if it works. ;)

Cant seem to get the colors working properly on this monitor. HDR looks greyish tint and all the diffrent Gamevisual settings look wierd. Maybe its just me, but can someone pitch in?

VG259QM @280Hz has the lowest input lag.

It doesn't matter what framerate you have in game. You'll only have input lag on the VG259QM if you run it @60Hz, on console for example.

Great! what about other issues? i saw a guy saying that it has too much overshoot bellow 200Hz/fps and OD cannot be adjusted when ELMB/S is enabled. i don't know if this is true, thank you by the way! :D

I got the VG259QM recently, if you are on PC you'll run the monitor @280Hz and won't be below 200Hz, your framerate won't affect response time either.
You can check Rtings review for more precise data regarding response time and overshoot, but with an OD of 60, 80 or 120 you shouldn't notice any disturbing overshoot or ghosting. I run OD at 120 and have no issue (OD 120 is basically a mix between OD 60 and 80, it's not a very intense OD setting as you could think).

About the ELMB, I don't use it. I didn't notice much difference between ELMB ON and OFF except the downsides of it : way lower brightness and a tad more input lag.

Same, I'm using OD120 at 280hz but I enable Adaptive Sync, there is some overshoot since OD120 scales by increasing the overshoot the lower your fps go compared to static 280hz with VRR OFF that has a more consistent overshoot pattern (that is limited to very few pixel transitions + it can be mitigated by Shadow Boost).

In Apex when my fps go as low as 140 I honestly don't notice any overshoot while playing and input lag is very consistent.
