how "bad" really is 27" 1080p compared to 25" ?

a lot of opinions online seem to be that 27" 1080p is just too blurry/pixelated, and that if you sit at normal distance from pc monitor you will very easily see individual pixels and that text is hard/annoying to read in desktop and so on, (supposedly gaming and movies are less affected by the problem?)

how true is this really? I understand it is also subjective and maybe also depends on how good vision you have, biggest reason I wonder is because I really want to buy the new benq xl2746S monitor that is available in my country, first I wanted to wait for xl2546S but I am running out of patience for it to be even announced :D maybe it will not even be released who knows..

would appreciate any feedback if someone here has compared for themself 24-25" 1080p vs 27" 1080p or has a 27" 1080p monitor and want to give some opinions on it, I understand also if you sit a bit further back it is perhaps less easier to see the pixels, but in some games like Fortnite sometimes I have to move eyes quite close to monitor to aim down sights at small targets in the distance and so on, if that makes sense, cheers and thanks !

edit: just to be clear i'm talking about the physical pixels and not like jagged edges in games (can always use antialiasing to help that a bit!)

Hi again)
I was sure that I could handle with it 27 and 1080 on VG279QM, but it's only one moment which irritates me a little bit with this monitor. The worse moment is the text during the job, not sharp image, but not so bad in games, I play fine CS GO with 1024*768. Depends on also how far you sit from the monitor, I sit on near 50sm and for this length the best with 1080 is 24-25, not 27. In my opinion most of people would be suffer with 27 and FullHD. Go for 24.5 version with FullHD and you will not mistake exactly.

Just for the test launched CS 1.6 with my old settings 640*480 - It's impossible to play with it on 27 and 1080 :D

not much. You can sit 2 inches closer until you can see pixels.

The visual acuity for the 27 inch and the 24.5 inch is literally 2.2 inches apart.

the advantage the 24.5 inch has a better field of view. It's smaller so there's less eye tracking hence better reaction times. There's some mathematics involved but 24.5 inch version of the same resolution of 1080p has a better parameter from sitting within the same distance.

when it comes to seeing individual pixels, there'es really not that much difference. it's 2.2 inches. 3.2 feet is the visual acuity( for a 24.5 inch 1080p monitor, whereas 3.4 feet is the visual acuity for a 27 inch monitor. Thing is, with smaller monitors, the pixels are harder to see compared to the 27 inch version. I was able to see individual pixels within 2 feet on the 27 inch version/

I returned my VG279QM because it was awful compared to a 1440p monitor on 27". I'll wait for 240 Hz 1440p to become more widespread instead.

I'm still saying just buy a monitor yourself and try it Alexander. Sweden has such good policies about returning products and if you can find it on NoN all is good. No questions asked testing period of 90 days.

Even if they do make 1440p/240hz you will not be able to use it due to lack of FPS, for 240hz the best is 1080p.
If you like 27" and 1440p - you can only think about 144hz

Or 24 inch with 1080p + 240hz/280hz

The same thing is with 4k resolution, even if they make 120hz it will be so hard to make it possible with fps.

CSGO runs well over 240 fps and the other games I play I reach around 200 fps with my current 1440p monitor.
There are also other things than gaming, I like to be able to read webpages without it being a pixelated mess.

If I wanted to play AAA titles at 1440p I'd just turn on freesync but the reason why someone would want 240 Hz is competitive gaming and in all those games you easily reach that fps with a somewhat modern computer. Think a few steps further before you say 1440p only works at 144 Hz.

alright, I didn't count the cs go players, for me this game is already gone, we have cod mw, apex, and much more games,
but yea if cs go will be alive then maybe 360hz monitors will be very nice for this game

It may be gone for you but it is the biggest game on steam by miles. Running codmw and apex over 144 fps isn't hard either. I run them both around 170-200 fps and I haven't even bothered trying to tweak for fps.
In my experience you also keep a monitor much longer than you keep a GPU so with time these games will also become simple to run.

Also remember you still get input lag benefits and reduced tearing from 240Hz, even with lower fps. And if you play battle royale games the enhanced clarity for spotting and engaging enemies at distance is much easier on 1440p @ 27".

Not in my case. But for example 27'' was huge difference when playing PUBG and H1Z1
