I just ordered the msi and only because i heard the colors are great. People said that the colors on the Asus are very bad for an ips and also that the 280hz is useless cause it can't keep up so I thought to myself what would be the point of getting that over a cheaper TN. If anything wait for the 360hz TN over the 280hz ips
i am using the vg259qm. playing csgo whereby my frame rates are always above 250fps to 500fps
running at 280hz refresh rate with OD 80.
tbh, the colors of my asus IPS is much better than my Dell IPS that i use for work. ( i have them side by side) and i dont face any input lag or slow response time at all as what you mention ( cant keep up with 280hz ) it works just the same as my alienware aw2518h 240hz tn panel in gameplay. not sure why the claims of "cant keep up" come from.

the colors are excellent. Also at 1200:1 (which is tied with the FI27q-p in highest IPS contrast, it's beautiful to look at). I closed my blinds and turned off the light in my room so my room was pitch dark. And the blacks are still "black" and not "greyish" looking.
i lucked out with the 125% SRGB MSI. It's almost as vibrant as my 133-140% SRGB viewsonic nano panel

The colors of the asus is extremely unpleasant. Especially if you are browsing the internet on a white background. You will see an ugly yellow tint which makes the monitor very grainy to look at.
in comparison, here are the MSi's whites on a VERY VERY angled photo(zero color shift bcuz IPS) and the whites are still clearly superior. No "yellow" tint either unlike the asus. Pictures don't lie
MSI whites

buddy, that picture u took is from the time u got it and i bet u didnt download the .icc color profile. those pictures are taken out of the box and u didnt re took it after applying the .icc profile. in fact i think u didnt even try the .icc at all as u had return the monitor already.
stop all this bullshit claims. not only me but others in this forum starts to get annoyed by you.
i dont have this type of grainy claims that u mention at all and my whites are good. using the vg259qm
after all your posts, i can see u are like a MSI fanboy who keeps promoting the 240hz IPS vs tn etc etc. it is starting to become a little ...overwhelming and irritating.

Of course u think your whites are acceptable, the same way TN users think their colors are acceptable. For me? Ive owned almost all of the 240hz monitors, so i can easily tell which colors are bad relative to other 240hz panels. My points of references from EXPERIENCE and PHOTOS i provide back up my claims. If u choose to think its bS, FINE WITH ME. If u want to defend your purchase, more power to ya.
PS i never have grainy problems or that annoying yellow tint the moment i first turned on my MSI(or any other 240HZ monitor, although the alienware has a cloudy washed out uniformity due to its 800:1 contrast ratio, but that is godsend compared to the ASUS 'horrid yellowish/golden brown phosphor)

i have posted pictures of my vg259qm previously as well, showing color uniformity and have little backlight bleed as well on a black background.
i am not defending my purchases at all.
I have 3 different 240hz monitor.
benq XL2546
Asus VG259QM
Alienware AW2518H
Out of this 3, the benq has the most yellowish tint.
as for you mr fan boy, who knows u can be a MSI promoter doing all this. anyway i am lazy to argue. The others have also voiced out against you. rest my case. dont have to respond back defending yourself, cant be bothered already.

How does the VG259QM compare to the other two 240hz TN that you have? Is motion clarity as good as the TN?

Thanks for the info you gave for the VG259QM. I don't want to defend anyone, but RLCS got the 27" version and maybe he had a defective one ? And someone already said the 24" of Asus had better colors than the 27"(more yellowish).
Atleast to me he didn't seem to be affiliate to MSI, and his arguments quite make sense to me between choosing IPS over TNs.
Nice to hear 280hz 80od can keep up while playing.
