XL2746S vs XL2546S

24 inch or 27 inch monitor for FPS competition? Same specs .. same resolution. What's your reasons?

I think it will mostly depend on the user but these are my personal opinions.
On the size and ppi, I did not notice that much of a degradation in quality on 27 vs 24. There was a slight blur on the 27 inch of course but I turned up the sharpness setting and it solved most of blur enough for me to be content.
I had the XL2746S and felt that the monitor was really good for tap fire guns and hitting heads from a distance in FPS games. In my case this was in pistol rounds of games like CS:GO and Valorant. Battle royales like PUBG I can see being good as targets become bigger and your fights will mostly be at distance. However, whenever it came to close quarters fights I would lose the majority of the fights against agile opponents who rushed me. I opted to go with the XL2546S and have it on pre-order already.

Most people go for the smaller one due to higher pixel density.
BenQ XL2546K @ 240Hz (DyAC+) • ROCCAT Kone Pro Air @ 1000Hz • HyperX Alloy Origins • CORSAIR MM350 PRO Premium • HyperX Cloud Revolver • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 @ 2130MHz/8000MHz • Intel Core i7-8700K @ 4.8GHz • G.SKILL RipjawsV 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz CL15

I have just returned XL2746S due to dead/stuck pixel and yes, it's been long time since I saw 1080p on 27 inch and there is a reason for that - it's pretty awful. As suggested by 90% of peeps, wait for XL2546S.

Thank you for the replies. My next question for your experience is what resolution were you using? I've read people using 4:3 stretched on 27 inch and absolutely love it, specially for very close encounters. I plan on playing valorant not csgo. People do move slightly slower in general around corners compared to csgo. What do you think? How bad is the blur? Does mouse feel weird on 27 inch wide?

I played CSGO on lower resolutions 4:3 and yes it was really really good. With DyAC set to Premium and AMA option to High/Premium the clarity of high pace action was brilliant. Absolutely no mouse problems.

It's just a matter if you are willing to go with 27'' pixel density route, because any fonts in game/desktop are going to be absolutely terrible.

Seems to be a good in-depth review, use google translate.

Assuming the results are similar to the 2546s, am not sure if it is worth spending more 140/180 than a xf252q

Guess is all a matter of perspective and requirements. I have the xf272x but it is NOT my primary monitor, it is my gaming monitor. I have zero issues going from it to my editing monitor (BenQ PD3200 4k 32") but of course, it it was going to be my only monitor, I wouldnt be happy with the image quality but not just because it is 27"...it wouldnt be good enough at 24" either.

Exactly. I have poor eyesight so on a 27" monitor, I actually perform better in FullHD windowed than fullscreen. I did that testing several times on my 27" 1440p monitor.
I think I could get used to it but the fact that I can take away 3 inches from the screen size and see things clearly is a blessing for someone like me that is used to see things blurry.

For me, the dream is 1440p 240hz but my computer can't handle that while streaming, so, for now, I'll stick with 144hz 1400p 27".

Regarding the OP question, most people go for the 24" version for some reason. I'd play it safe. If you grind FPS and are considering this screen you probably sit quite close to the monitor, so I can definitely say you will notice some blurriness on the 27". Then again, I have seen amazing players playing on FHD 27". They say they prefer the larger images even though they're slightly blurry. but... a good player will frag on any monitor.

Did anyone test if this monitor does dyac (Benq blur reduction) single strobe at 60hz refresh rate?

Single strobing at 60hz will be EXTREMELY obvious--there will be very noticeable backlight flicker compared to 100hz. and the Alien Invasion Test UFO page will look glass smooth with 60hz blur reduction without any sort of double image. Double strobe will not have flicker and will be very double imaged at 60hz.

I absolutely NEED to replace my XL2720Z soon... :/
