Okay, so why do you put XB273 X so low in your rating? Not so long ago you were saying that it was so amazing and you'd re-buy it, that it was at least the second best 240 Hz IPS monitor. Now it's just in the middle of the chart, below several other 240 Hz IPS options...

Isn't it obvious? Because the ratings are heavily influenced by his emotions rather than reality. Not even a week before that he had been raving about how this is the best monitor he has tested and how it was an unfair advantage because of how good it was. Then a dead pixel appears because of misfortune and suddenly we forget that the monitor has rated number 1 in pretty much every category. The only question you should be asking yourself is if you want a 27 inch monitor and if you are willing to pay the extra cash. Because if his previous word is to be taken even remotely seriously then xb273 is easily the best IPS monitor, with the only downside that it's a bit pricier and 27 inches.

it all depends on the intended use, for competitive fps 25 inches looks perfect, field of view and mouse movement perfect, 27 is a bit big, personally tried the comparison, the speech that many say that it is enough to move away from the monitor to compensate does not exist, the same result is not obtained

Did anyone test the XB273 X to see if it's as low GTG as that RLSCScontender say? I see no reviews on it yet, and if that chart is accurate then it's extremely impressive even if it can strobe at 120hz max

Seems like there's still not a single test for this monitor online, sadly. I've also been looking forward for some other XB273 X tests to have any comparison. From my personal testing though, this monitor seems to have very good response times and just slight inverse ghosting on "Normal" overdrive.

What about while using the variable overdrive, is the inverse ghosting gone? People were saying the Nitro XV273X is the same monitor or at least panel minus the G-Sync module, not sure how true or accurate that is though but it does score really good on tftcen.

Variable overdrive is always in use as far as I know, as it's all done by the G-SYNC module integrated in the monitor, so no matter what refresh rate you're currently on (fixed or variable), it gives the best performance it's able to provide. With overdrive disabled, I can see a little bit of ghosting in the Blur Busters UFO Ghosting Test, overdrive "Normal" looks clear, but produces a bit of inverse ghosting (pale halos) mostly visible in brighter transitions, "Extreme" overdrive is, of course, unusable and produces severe overshoot.

Currently I have BenQ Zowie XL2546 and Acer Predator XB273 X, and I can tell you in all certainty, that the amount of overshoot that I can see in the UFO Ghosting Test is definitely smaller on the XB273 X. While playing CS:GO on XB273 X, I'd occasionally spot a small amount of light, pale trail behind an object when moving quickly, while on XL2546 it's more like bluish trail. Unfortunately, I have no gear to capture that and provide pictures or videos, smartphone I have is fairly outdated, it struggles to make a picture that isn't blurred  I was surprised to see pretty visible overshoot on XL2546, a fairly solid amount of inverse ghosting plaguing brighter transitions in the UFO Ghosting Test, as it's said to be top-class TN panel and is the most popular e-sport CS:GO professionals' choice. I would say I don't really see that much overshoot while playing CS:GO on XL2546, however. What's strange though is that I can clearly see overshoot while moving... windows on my desktop, or on static targets in workshop's map like AimBotz (probably due to the fact it's pretty bright there). I'm pretty confused with this Zowie display. I wonder if XL2546 is that weird or I got a defective unit.

Tomorrow I will be laying my hands on MSI Optix MAG251RX, my order is in process, so I'll have a direct comparison for another 240 Hz option. After that I'll probably also order Asus TUF Gaming VG259QM, the 280 Hz monster.

I'm pretty sure variable overdrive only works with VRR(G-Sync on) with fixed/G-Sync off you have the 3 options and that's it.
I'm still torn on the XB273 X or MAG251RX, heard the Acer works best at normal OD across all hz and the MSI on fast. Might just buy both and test what I like more, even though 25"/1080p is superior I prefer the larger 27" and also G-Sync module, also I think the Acer is 3 year warranty and MSI is 2 year.

Both XB273 X and MAG251RX have 2 years warranty, at least in my local stores. About variable overdrive, it's best if we ask about that in G-SYNC forum section to see who's right, I am not 100% sure :) And yeah, I also struggle to choose between the XB273 X, MAG251RX and VG259QM/VG279QM, so I'm just buying and testing them personally. That's the only way one can be sure to make the right choice, if you ask me. When I see how all of them perform, I'll make my choice then.

If there was a 4th OD setting for variable OD then it would work without G-Sync but seeing how there's 3, I don't see how variable overdrive would work when you always have 1 of the 3 options selected, with G-Sync on variable overdrive just works. Acers website shows 3 years, at least for North America.

Hello, I just wanted to add that the panel used in a Alienware aw2521hf is M250HAN01.7 not M250HAN01.3
source? I need direct evidence backing this up. Every thiing points in the direction of m250han01.3

contrast ratios(1200:1)
response times(lower mid 3ms)
the non-native pc resolution

only difference is, the battery is internal and doesn't require external brick for the alienware 24.5" model
Hello, I thought the same, but I disassembled the monitor and it says M250HAN01.7
