Is there any reason why LG OLED TVs have input lag?

Would it be possible for LG to make an OLED TV that had input lag as low as their monitors? Or would it require redundant electronics to bypass the image processing hardware built into the TV?

Just from the top of my head.. it's some sort of post processing that they do, to ensure a clear image. You should be able to negate this by using their implemented 'Game Mode' if they have one, which skips this processing feature, although you may see tearing or artifacts. :<

Some TVs have to buffer a refresh cycle for processing to keep quality high.
Most esports display do essentially realtime sync between cable scanout and panel scanout (See
www.blurbusters.com/scanout for high speed videos -- refresh cycle delivery is one pixel row at a time). But current OLEDs have had difficulty doing that at sufficiently high quality levels.
Older LCDs used to do this too (framebuffering before refreshing).
