I just installed Windows 2004 in hopes of finally fixing the stutters when playing a game on the 120hz monitor while watching something in a browser (twitch, ...) on the other 60 hz monitor.
While it does not feel like inconsistent stutter any longer, it clearly only outputs 60fps to my 120hz monitor while a twitch stream is running on the 60hz monitor, which is absolutely noticeable and looks like playing on a 60hz screen.
edit: after testing some more it does seem to work now. i'm not sure why it looked like 60fps the first time i tested it, but it does seem a lot better now.
either way, i hope they add a seperate thread for each monitor soon...
still not really an excuse not to just allow us to disable the DWM like we could in win7 to fix it.
windows 2004 refresh rate fix is disappointing
