Definitely not needed. It just depends on what you personally like better. I got a Pro Calibrater guy coming in a few months to calibrate 2 TV's for me and while here, I might just get him to calibrate this monitor best he can. So then I'd still save and have the other profile, but I'd be able to compare and see which I like better.
You should do something similar but calibrate yourself as you said. But I'd for sure try the profile too, just to see.
Re: The Official *MSI Optix MAG251RX* Owners Thread
Would anyone with this monitor recommend it for:
- Non-240FPS games? (i mean, no esports games like CSGO, ect...)
- Using it set at 120Hz (+12bits)?
- 60FPS (or less) games? (despite having good input lag)
Or is better to stick to lower Hz (and cheaper ) monitors?
Thanks in advance .

What makes the mag251rx king of monitors currently is it's versatility. I can game with 30-60fps console games no problem with elite level input lag. Just turn on adaptive sync. I've play crash team raching on my ps4pro and modern warfare/apex at 30-60fps and it's a treat with the mag251rx. I haven't heard of any other monitors besides the XB253QGX and XB273X that can perform at low hz with god level input lag and a smooth experience.

Joel, adaptive sync can be found under the osd settings. Turning it on does give a minimal input lag increase but also greatly smooths out your gameplay. I find it necessary to turn on when you play any console game locked at 30 fps. At 60 or more you can play with it off if you’re not sensitive to screen tearing.

somebody can correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure u should only turn on adaptive sync if u want to use gsync/freesync

Can i ask you, or anyone, how the MSI feels with the eye strain? If you have never had eye strain i guess you cannot answer this, but just in case .
Re: The Official *MSI Optix MAG251RX* Owners Thread
Thanks ! I'm only using 240fps/hz, even though I'm playing some games I am unsure came out at 240 (for Instance Skyrim). But its Skyrim on PC. So ?? Either way I do not see a FPS setting in the Skyrim settings. But Im rocking it at 240 and its beautiful IMO. I so far do not plan to ever use this monitor outside of 240. As #1 I'm only going to use it on PC. And #2 other than Skyrim, I will only be playing new games (Red Dead, the next Elder Scrolls VI, Fortnite, etc..).Makie wrote: ↑27 Jun 2020, 15:00Joel, adaptive sync can be found under the osd settings. So if I understand you right, if using @240, you should never need to use Adaptive Sync/G-Sync ?
Calibrate it, and it will be fine. Most eye strain is due to people not getting their screen calibrated *properly*. Cause 10 times outta 10 (if you use your own personal taste in calibration), people got it WAY too bright and cold. Which in turn can cause eye strain.

What refresh rates does the Anti-Motion Blur (AMB) work at? And how much crosstalk is there with AMB at 100-144 Hz refresh ranges?
