Yeah the MAG251RX was nice, preferred the LG for gaming though as it just felt clearer and smoother(not a fan of the 27" though) both were nicer than the Alienware, I should get the Asus next week to test out.

don't use CRU imo, there's likely a reason MSI uses the very specific refresh (it's not 240.000hz) probably for image retention issues but it also allows 10bit. with 240.000hz typical lcd timings you can't use 10bit, but with lcd reduced you can. I just don't use CRU as we're talking about what... like a 0.001ms benefit
But pending on the game, 240hz just has a much smoother look to the movements and especially panning camera sweeps. Most open world type games really benefit from this. I agree, worrying about the input lag is kinda moot at that point. But fluidity is very important to me.

And I'm not referring to the reduced trick thing, but rather with this MSI, to get 240hz as a "native" resolution, you need CRU
I don't understand, you're saying 240.000hz has a much smoother look than 239.973hz???

LOL - no that would be impossible. I'm saying 240 seems to have a smoother movement feel/look than 120, 60, etc.. At least on this monitor. But, when I play 120hz on my OLED tv, it looks fine. So yea, IDK. I said that above cause you said to not use CRU and on this monitor you need CRU to use anything above 120 *at "native" resolution. If you don't, you are using the PC non-native resolution and the GPU is doing your scaling. Therefore messing things up a bit. Use CRU and you make the PC 240 resolution "Native". Its the only way. Hence why I said that above. You can read all about this in the first few posts of this thread and instructions on how to do it. CRU is needed.

Either way, off topic now. But my gaming is changing. I'm drifting back into the looks style games and less competition stuff. So now imo, this MSI (all IPS's imo) just don't look good enough. Horrible bloom, blacks not black enough. IDK, just not represents good enough for my taste now (never did really, but I accepted it for the 1ms/240hz trade off). I will always keep this one for Fortnite gaming for that reason. But now I am looking for what apparently doesn't exist :-( for my eye candy games where input lag is far less important.
32" curved 4k 120hz OLED monitor. Can't find one anywhere. All 4k is like 40" and above. And any 32"'ers are the inferior panel types.

Sucks man. I'm even willing to go into the tv status and lose some ms in input lag. IDC. (Ideally not, but I will) Like what's so hard about it ? My 55" Sony is 120hz@4k OLED, and it to date is the best looking screen I've seen. All I ask is they make the same thing in a 32" curved version and I'd be cool. Been searching everywhere.

If I were to put input lag specs aside, what monitor type panels exist now that are closest to rivaling with OLED looks wise ? Cause apparently OLED monitors don't exist. I looked all over for months now.

but that isn't true.. it doesn't mess with anything actually. Chief said so too.

for OLED monitors, LG CX 48'' OLED TV works fine as a monitor apparently

Haven't noticed any difference except in a dual monitor setup, my mag won't go to sleep with displayport but with hdmi it will. also no 10bit with hdmi

Yea, happens to me as well
beyond me how they can screw up such a simple feature, but great monitor otherwise

Oh, I didn't know that. According to a few here, it seems it was a efficiency issue or something of the sort. I didn't catch the Chief post saying otherwise. Hmmm, ok

Yea I did see that TV as well. But again, I'm looking for 32" max. And curved too ideally

Wow that was quick ! Nice. Very glad to hear this one is a keeper. I use DP myself. I was under the impression if your running 240hz @ 2k you need DP.

RLSContender was saying if you use the HDMI cable in the box though and are at a lower hz (I forget exactly which) that you then got a option for 12bit color. Or something like that. But oddest thing, you need to use the HDMI cable that it came with or that doesn't work.
