Fastest Gaming Monitor

Post by sarchaain » 27 Jun 2020, 16:28

Hey guys,

i have already read a lot in this forum regarding fast monitors and i would like your opinion on this matter :)
Im searching for the fastest available monitor regarding input lag. I dont care about overdrive or colors. I only care about input lag :D
Im playing mainly cs go and other competitive games with high fps. The price doesnt matter
I was thinking about the omen x 25f, because i read that the monitor has a really low input lag (like 2.5ms)
Also the Asus VG258QR was tested by prad with an input lag of 2.3ms
What would you guys recommend?

Thanks and have a nice day!
Martin

It's already released, ready to buy, mostly out of stock due demand/covid
It may or may not be the "fastest", since that is really hard to measure but it should be top-top tier for competitive gaming, in a way it won't hold you back in any way

the fastest gaming monitor are either the asus vg259qm or asus vg279qm

it's 15% faster than any other monitor up until the 360hz monitors come out in the next 5 months

3 days ago you say "For any1 who want #1 ranked g2g and #1 ranked input lag, 240hz ips, the xb273x is the clear winner." now suddenly the vg259qm is 15% faster than anything else. How does that happen? How do you even talk about the definitive fastest monitor when you haven't even reviewed the 2546s or most TNs for that matter? Chief also once again messaged you about the legitimacy of your tests and there has been no response in 3 days. Really starting to doubt that companies aren't paying you to promote their products.

He has mentioned in his monitor tier list forum that he only reviews ips monitors because he doesn't want to sacrifice good colours + viewing angles to get slightly better motion clarity when ips panels are becoming very competitive compared to tn panels in that aspect. Also by 15% faster he is most likely talking about the 280hz refresh rate that those monitors can handle which is around 15% more than 240hz monitors.

The guy is asking for the fastest monitor, not about a monitor with good colors and good viewing angles. He specifically said he is looking at lowest input lag and that he'd be playing cs and other competitive titles. 3 days ago rlcs said that according to his tests another monitor is the best in that input lag. It's also quite possible that a TN is better in esports titles.

It's a bit disingenuous to claim that X is the fastest monitor by 15% in terms of input lag when you haven't tested half the high end monitors out there. If he's constantly going to flame TN panels and heavily push for IPS while saying he isn't biased and that his testing are legit then the least he could do is test them and then return them after testing. That is assuming if he ever responds to chief and it's confirmed that his numbers are legit. Otherwise the only reasonable thing is to take his comments with a huge grain of salt.

Sorry about that Topic creator, i didn't answer your question correctly.

If you want little to no input lag, the 240hz Acer 240hz 27" monitors (xb273x/xv273x) have the lowest input lag that i've ever measured. (especially the acer predator xb273x). Even the 240hz acer nitro(the slowest 240hz IPS monitor that i've tested) has lower input lag than one of the fastest TN(nitro xf252q) according to TFTcentral's graph. The native g-sync acer predator xb273x has MUCH MUCH lower input lag than its freesync cousin the acer nitro xv273x which is #1 in rtings and #1 in tftcentral's input lag results. Check out my megathread to see my review.

I do feel for TN owners though. Maybe there's an non-reviewed TN monitor out there somewhere that has lower input lag than the xb3 240hz IPS Acer monitors.

hope that answers your question. Happy 4th of july
