Dude, I don't believe the acer 240 is faster than the 280Hz asus. Looks like fake and PR /advertisement predator.
i didn't say that acer predator at 240hz is faster than asus at 280hz, i said that the only time asus competes on par with acer predator is when it goes to 280hz, if your game runs at fps around 200-240, acer predator is faster than asus.

In any case I am not acer or asus fanboy, I don't care to be, I just gave some advice regarding input lag, both are great panels.
Peace

@ IIISLIDEIII where did you get those charts?

According to these then the Acer Predator XB273Xbmiprzx, 27" is the fastest IPS on the market right now, is it true? can someone else confirm?
i haven't tried it personally so i can't vouch for it but apparently yes, in any case remember that model is only 27 inches and 27 inches on fullhd is not really something i recommend

If I'm not wrong those are the charts from @ RLCSContender.
Until he can give more certainty I take his test-results with a "grain of salt".

but in fact everyone must choose based on what he deems most appropriate, I simply gave an opinion, so in the end that it is a 240hz branded Asus, Acer or Msi, the panels are always the same and the differences will be in the order of imperceptible, certainly there is that the Asus has excellent performance only when you risk pushing the framarate to 280fps, below the performance drops dramatically, which happens to a lesser extent both on acer and on msi, if I were to evaluate an alternative to my predator I would go on MSI, certainly not on ASUS, but it's just my opinion and it applies to me.
If someone is looking for something really "different" from the whole array of 240hz IPS that there are on the market they must go only on one panel, the Benq XL2546s, beware, not said better, I said "different".

what I can guarantee based on my tests, as owner of an Lg panel with 2.2 ms input lag, is that the predator is much faster

Yes you are right, at the end what matters for an attentive buyer is to be able to cross different test no matter the methodology as long as those are disclosed and after reading plainty of different "reputable" websites and reviewer (who actualy disclose their methodology) the list you provided on another thread is pretty close to the big 4 in monitor's market right now:

-Benq XL2546S (waiting for the new september version)
-Asus VG259QM/VG279QM
-Acer XB273X (variable overdrive?)/MSI MAG251RX/Acer XB253Qx
-Omen x25f/ Acer Nitro XF252Q

Top monitors, more like a big 8, but I put some monitors together because I admit that buying one would be almost like buying the other, whereas differences between hyphens are more pronounced. I ommited Alienware (for its lack of features and variety), Nitro 27", Viewsonic XG270, Asus ROG strix/Swift, LG TNs because I'm not reviewing or making a ranking, just trying to state a sort of meta-data across past reading (which could fake lead, but well we need to trust something).

Closely behind is samsung attempt to bring VA in the competition wouldn't it be?

But...

I read Chief's post about RLCSContender refus to disclosure, and pages later I still didn't find his disclosure... did he do it? As I said above when we read a review (as consumer or future buyer or just enthusiast) we trust the writter, and this process is ensured by giving reasons to.

note: all these monitors cost in Germany in between 330€ and 390€ right now apart from Acer XB273X 440€ and BenQ Zowie serie S not available. Such a close range of prices makes the decision again more difficult because when we can't use the price as an excuse we tend to be picky on not so important details maybe ?...

I have VG259QM. I actually don't mind setting the OD to 60. I can't see any extra smearing because if it's running at 280Hz I get less actual motion blur.

There's crosstalk on my panel at higher refresh rates when using ELMB sync, do I prefer reducing the refresh rate to 144Hz when using blacklight strobing. It has the clearest UFO on my panel that way.
I highly recommend you to try OD80 at 280hz, if you try this https://www.testufo.com/ghosting and set the speed to 1440pps you'll istantly notice that OD80 is 100% blur free with very very minor overshoot.
I get blue halos with 80, with no difference in ghosting. I'm sure it's there (since I'm getting overshoot), I just can't see it with my eyes because any difference in blur would be in the blue halo area so it's hard to see

If I want clearer UFOs I'll just turn on strobing, which makes a noticeable difference
