Got the Odyssey G7 27". First time using refresh rate above 165hz and curved screen. I couldn't be happier. I sit close to my monitor so the curve is actually quite nice

If I didn't read reviews about the 32" having flickering issues I might have picked it up. Seems it only happens when using Free-Sync? Not sure, exactly. The 27" didn't seem bigger than my 24" It is obviously but it didn't do it justice for $650, to me. I can say that I got a deal on my HP Omen for $349 The stupid display demo didn't showcase the resolution. Maybe I'm lucky it didn't or I would of spent the money on it. Maybe if I get the nerve again I'll take another look but too many little turn-offs did it for me with the 27"

All in all I'm glad I looked at it.

I did but the input lag seemed better with the 25f. Speed/latency is my primary purchasing steering metric. I only have a 1070 so that kinda influences my purchasing decision, also, but it's something I can work with.

G7 here and vg259qm as well. I also had the xg249q 240hz TN panel a while back. G7 has TN like response times. Now throw in good colors that pop, high contrast 1440p HDR 600. The monitor is really good. The 32 inch seems to have flickering but I don't have any issues on the 27 inch.
Does the backlight strobing work at other refresh rates besides 240Hz? 120 Hz? 144 Hz?

I couldn't wait for other monitors to either arrive or come back in stock, so I broke down and bought the 27" G7. Pretty much checks all the boxes of what I want in a monitor, except I'm not sure how it will handle backlight strobing at 120 Hz for the games I can't maintain 240 fps in.

Does it do 240Hz @ 1920x1080?

I have a 27" G7 and it does have slight flickering in certain scenarios. If you use the G-Sync Pendulum demo and set it to simulate 40-60fps you can notice the flicker if you focus on the entire monitor screen instead of a specific object. It's definitely there, and with enough confirmations from people actively looking for it who know what they're doing that it likely affects the entire series. Hopefully Samsung can fix or minimize it in a future firmware update.

I'm not sure, haven't seen anything that says that it will or won't. It's supposed to arrive this coming Saturday so I guess I'll find out. But generally speaking, I wanted a 27" 1440p monitor because of the pixel density. I already have a 27" 1440p 144hz monitor and I enjoy the larger screen and less aliased look compared to my 24" 1080p panel. However, to my eye the 27" monitor (TN panel) has every so slightly slower pixel response time to my 24" monitor (TN panel), and it doesn't have a MBR mode while my 24" does. The colors are also, to no surprise, nothing special. They aren't bad on either monitor, but they are noticeably worse than my HDTV. The Samsung should even the odds for my single player gaming, where I don't care about 100+ fps, while being as good or better than my current monitors for eSports gaming, assuming I get a panel as good as the one Hardware Unboxed reviewed.

But I guess even if the Odyssey doesn't handle 1080p@240hz very well, or at all, the games I'm looking to play (Apex Legends and CoD Warzone) have render resolution options so I can keep the display at its native 1440p.

Input lag on the HP Omen, according to RTINGS, is 2.6ms vs 2.7ms on the Samsung.
HP Omen X 25f 1920x1080p, Samsung 2560x1440p
HP Omen X 25f 24" , Samsung 27 & 32" + 1000R curved

I have the Omen X 25f. I came from an Asus VG248QE, still have it too, so I don't have a relatively equal comparison. I'm really liking the idea of 2560x1440p and a larger 27 or 32" screen. Was thinking of running to my local Micro Center and giving either a try.

Anyone using a G7 have any input to share?

Thanks :)
Just hooked up my G7 and played around for a few minutes. Some basic initial impressions, from what I can tell with my eye.

-I can definitely notice the difference in smoothness/framerate jumping from 144 Hz to 240 Hz. Just moving windows around on the desktop I notice less jumpiness.

-Now actual motion blur reduction, to my eye, is harder to see. The G7 is slightly clearer than my other 27" 1440p 144Hz monitor, the Dell S2719DGF (TN panel). Right now it's a toss up when comparing the G7 to my older 144 Hz VG248QE. I haven't done a direct comparison but I give the edge in motion blur reduction to the VG248QE in both strobed and non-strobed modes, from my memory. I'll hook up the old boy later to do a direct comparison.

-Speaking of strobed... I'm initially very disappointed in the G7's MBR. Running the UFO test it does clean up the image if you try to follow it, however there is a ghosting effect that just doesn't look smooth; introduces a stutter-like step look to motion. UFOs in MBR look like their at less than 60 fps instead of the 240 fps. I will test out some actual games later to see if this translates from the UFO test, but the old Asus monitor's hacked strobing mode looked better from my memory.

-The positive of the strobe mode is there is a very small hit to brightness, so the this might be a factor to push it ahead of the VG248QE in actual games.

-Now I never would have considered input lag a huge deal, but whether it's the extra 100 Hz or actual lower processing latency I did feel my mouse input (sniping in Overwatch) noticeably more responsive than either my Dell or Asus. Note: I always had the Dell in Gsync compatibility mode.

-Of Gsync, I haven't used it long enough to see the flicker everyone is talking about. However on my Dell in the last few weeks I have noticed a flicker-dimming occurring rarely. So it could be an issue with Nvidia drivers.

-The curve was a shock at first. Getting close to comfortable with it after an hour or so. It's actually pretty nice for movies and games, but on the desktop I think it will always be weird.

-The stand is dumb. Absurdly large. I didn't even try to fit it on my desk because I bought a 3rd party mounting system. The legs are as wide as the monitor is.
