Hi, i have been looking about the different pages, and i am not sure about my final conclusion for my settings!
I am fine playing some games like CS:GO where i have high fps, and can play easy to 280.

My problem is playing Warzone (ryzen 3600 and 2060 super) my fps playing low settings are around 130-190 and if i play with normal textures my fps are around 130-150, my monitor settings at this moment are 280hz, NO Gsync, OD 120, Shadow Lvl 1

What settings would be the best for me?

should i enable GSync and use 277 max fps cap in warzone?
cap in game 144 fps with GSync OFF and monitor settings OD to 60?

Thanks in advance!

I replaced my 3900X with a 5900X yesterday and received a massive gain in FPS in Warzone (around 40 or so). I would do this. For me, every since season 6 FPS has taken a massive hit. Grab a 5600X....

is there any way to make it so when I turn off this monitor it doesn't move all my windows + desktop to my 2nd / 3rd monitor?

Weird that with OC off 240hz is under PC in Nvidia's control panel but OC on 280hz is under the top Ulta/HD/SD section and is native.

Recently got my VG259QM, but having a strange issue where the monitor will occasionally restart and be set to 144hz. Unplugging and replugging the monitor cable seems to set it back to 240hz. Replaced the cable with a VESA certified DP cable, but it still happens. Any ideas?

This thread is really good, I just registered to thank you all and talk a little bit about my first impressions with this monitor

Basically, I've upgraded from an old BenQ XL2420T that I've owned since 2012. In my country there aren't many options, the XL2546K would be the best option for me, but it costs $1000 and I refuse to pay that much for a monitor. So I was left with the VG259QM and the AOC AG251FZ2, the AOC being slightly more expensive than the Asus. I ended up going with the Asus just because of this thread and many good reviews, while I couldn't find anything about the FZ2, only the first version.

I've been playing tons of COD lately, going from old ones like MW2 (iw4x), MW3 and BO2 pluto, and MW2019 (multiplayer only, I don't like warzone). Also some Apex Legends here and there, but CSGO used to be my main game for a few years.

Anyway, the problem with MW2019 is that my framerates are pretty unstable, especially on bigger and more detailed maps (I wish I could only play shoot house and shipment), it goes from 160 to 250 or even more in some places, with an 8700K @ 5GHz and a 1080Ti.
Pluto CODs are also running at similar framerates, because for some reason they don't let us use 250/333FPS, so it hovers between 200 to 240, sometimes the FPS goes down as well.

I've tested a few settings, and 240Hz with ELMB was the best option yet. I don't know if it's placebo, but I feel like using it at 280Hz the ghosting gets noticeably worse, which I guess goes against the rtings review.
So far I've enjoyed it, but I was expecting a MUCH better motion clarity. I honestly don't know if I should return it or not, it's obviously better than my old BenQ overall, but I'm not sure if it's worth spending $450 for this upgrade.

The only game that I could really feel the difference was CSGO, I've only tried it with 280Hz and ELMB on and holy $hit, the input lag was basically non existent. I could still notice some ghosting, but it wasn't bothering me that much.
The colors are much better too, I can notice the difference in game, playing iw4x @ 333fps was smooth as butter, and the colors on Rust were amazing. But honestly, I'd rather have a better motion clarity than great colors.

A downside compared to my old BenQ is that this monitor doesn't have a good sharpness setting, and because of that things looks more blurry, or it's the pixel density difference, I don't know.

Anyway, any settings recommendation for my case?

I find it extremely annoying too. Vividpixel on 25 is too little where next step 50 is too much. God damn it asus...

How do you guys fix slow (2-3 seconds) alt tabbing from fullscreen applications to the desktop and also back into the application such as a game? It takes like 3 seconds for the monitor to switch. I haven't had this issue with my XL2411Z. Whenever i was playing CSGO it was pretty much instant to switch to the desktop and back into the game. This monitor seems to basically shut down for a bit before showing the game :/

I found no fix for this during my time of ownership.
It seems to be slightly worse with ELMB enabled but even having it disabled results in a ~2 second delay when tabbing in/out of game.
This is the mode-change blackout (FreeSync ON/OFF, or ULMB ON/OFF, or Hz-change).

The only way to avoid this the 1920x1078 trick.
1. Create a 1920x1078 resolution via ToastyX (not NVIDIA), reduce resolution by 1 or 2 pixels, and increase vertical porch by 1 or 2 pixels to compensate.
2. Give it only ONE refresh rate.
3. Configure Windows desktop to that resolution
4. Configure Game to that resolution
5. Voila!

This also works with 1918x1080 or 1920x1079 -- it just have to be different from 1920x1080, and created via ToastyX (not NVIDIA Control Panel) and you have to make sure you create only one refresh rate.
Could you please tell me what porch? Front or back? And what about other settings? By default I see only one 240 hz 1920x1080 (239.964 hz) under "detailed resolution" with settings:
Front porch 48/3
Sync width 64/5
Back porch 48/56

But if I click "add" button default timing is MANUAL with different settings:
Front porch 88/4
Sync width 44/5
Back porch 148/36

I can choose LCD STANDARD or LCD NATIVE are the same as MANUAL, but there is LCD reduced with another settings:
Front porch 88/4
Sync width 32/5
Back porch 80/23

THREE DIFFERENT VALUES. I assume that the first values are gived by the monitor. So what Front porch, Sync width and Back porch should I use exactly for 1920x1079 resolution? ANOTHER PROBLEM: I can't choose display scaling after that, only GPU scaling is available in nvidia control panel.

Manual.

Copy each number (one by one) from your original functioning & working mode, and remove 1 from Vertical Active (1080 -> 1079) without changing Vertical Total.

Select GPU scaling -> No Scaling. Neither monitor nor GPU will scale at all. 1 black pixel row will occur.
