Do you think doing the 280hz OC shortens the life of this monitor? I do feel it seems a bit warmer but that's it
Though I do like 234hz OD100 the most. Never had the screen black out yet like others mentioned

For me the screen blackout happened only with:
stock Asus original fabric cable with usb-c/DP convertor
stock alienware DP cable
Stopped happening with quality club3D 8K usb-c DP cable.

Oh strange, I'm just using the stock Asus DP cable(which is just a thick rubber cable) does newer 259QM come with fabric ones with a usb-c? mine is DP to DP.joseph_from_pilsen wrote: ↑04 Jun 2023, 06:37For me the screen blackout happened only with:

Also I'm using the settings posted here before that gives exactly 250hz if that makes any difference, I have no idea

hello.
let me know please. i have to play one old game (ql). there is maxfps 250. if i set the monitor to 250hz+OD120 it feels perfect. many players say that its better to use equal fps/hz. so the question is about input lag. how many it would be on 250+OD120? or still better to set 280+OD120 ?
regards

stock asus cable is trash, get an 8k or 10k better one to prevent blackouts. Doesnt matter if you use DP-DP or USB-C - DP depending on your GPU.

Never had a blackout yet at 235fps 100 OD with the stock cable.

1440x1080 res fonts in windows look bad+ingame resets to 240hz
i made 280hz 1440x1080 res in cru with exact reduced timings. but ingame i think it resets to 240hz coz in osd it says 240hz and after i alt tab back to windows settings it says 240hz in display settings of windows. i tried gtf and cvt but it was out of bounds. also fonts in windows on 240hz 1440x1080 look good but on 280 they r blurry, like letter e has horizontal line with semi-transparent pixels instead of solid color like on 240hz. what timings should i use and also why valorant changes to 240hz
upd: did 240hz exact reduced on this res and in windows there was 279.857hz on which i had still good font. will test ingame
upd: yes seems like 280hz ingame monitor says 280hz and on desktop too
