Does someone know what is the exact range of ELMB on this monitor? I know I can 144 240 280, is there any other in between those refresh rates?

to answer the question above: just turn your monitor off and on and windows should recognize the right refresh rate again.

I just bought this monitor and it comes in today. I'm mainly using it for competitive Valorant(pushing for immortal 3/radiant this act), but I do play a lot of other games(Rocket league, tarkov, overwatch, csgo, pubg etc) so I want settings that will work for any game, but main focus is Valorant. I'll be using 280hz with adaptive sync. Currently in Valorant I get 250-350fps depending on the situation In the other games I definitely won't have constant 280 fps(like in tarkov and pubg) so that's the reason for adaptive sync.

What would be the best setting to use for my situation?(OD 60,80 or 120? etc)?

Currently I am running 280hz, racing mode, OD 80, an icc profile from rtings, adaptive sync on, ELMB Sync on, shadow boost off, brightness at 10 and contrast at 80 with windows blue light filter at 75 and monitor blue light at 0.

I played a game of Valorant on these settings(280hz, adaptive and elmb sync on etc.) and it felt really responsive and good. Super smooth and clear and snappy. Definitely way better than my old Viewsonic 24inch 240hz monitor and seems like way less input lag, better colors and more smooth on moving targets.

I'm a bit confused on ELMB Sync. Should I have it on or off? Is ELMB and ELMB Sync the same thing? I've read that ELMB is supposed to make your monitor less bright but for me it does the opposite? When I turn ELMB Sync on my monitor gets a bit brighter even at the same setting(10), but if I turn it off then my monitor gets less bright and I need to turn it up to 25 aprox. to get the same brightness. That seems the opposite of what I'm reading online so could someone please explain to me what's going on?

I'm thinking of using ELMB sync on, adaptaive sync on(gsync compatible on in osd and nvidia control panel), 280hz for Valorant and ny game where I'll get above 200fps. and on any game where I get less than 200 fps(apex, pubg, tarkov, any new games I try) I'll use OD60,adaptive sync on, ELMB off, 280hz?
Would those be good settings? Where does OD120 fit into this?

Bewst Settings to minimize the effect of crosstalk on BFI @1440p horizontal speed on UFO test:

the nvidia color settings work best on FPS mode > RTS/RPG mode > sRGB, racing, Scenery mode. I don't really see the point of the MOBA mode? It only shows red. And Cinema mode, well...

Those settings minimize the effect of the overly strong overdrive on the crosstalk and optimize the details around the target to track at any speed between 960p to 1920p horizontal on the UFO test.

But... the low saturation is intended to mitigate the color clipping introduced by high gamma, but failing at meeting something even close to bareable when it comes to content consumption. After many trials with this monitor for the past 2 years, this is the best competitive settings I found, but terrible if you watch youtube videos, films, or any type of content.

I would like to ask if someone could try those settings and post pictures of default BFI settings and these BFI settings to compare because I didn't understand how to make them for best results (very sorry).

Second. I dunno if it's intended but I've found through reading many reviews on monitors with BFI that contrast has an effect on the quality of BFI. Is it on purpose that the best monitors for BFI show lower contrast results than others? Of course TN have to have it. But what about the XG2431 and it's <1000:1 contrast ratio as an IPS? is it done on purpose?

DO NOT BUY ANYMORE ! Asus is using lower quality display panels in more recently produced units while still using the exact same model name. In my opinion this is customer deception by ASUS.
I contacted Asus customer support, they said this is "normal" and if I'm not happy with the panel, I just have to return it to the reseller.
Poor resellers just selling the units Asus delivered them ... how rude from Asus !
When I insisted at Asus customer support, they said it is due to the chip shortage. What, well Asus, just don't sell the panel anymore! Or use another model number or revision number or whatever.
When I insisted again at Asus customer support, they said my first panel came from the NL while the second came apparently from CZ ... how can that be a differentiator ???

My first panel VG259QM was bought from a NL reseller.
I bought my second panel of the Asus VG259QM two weeks ago on amazon.de.
Very disappointed, the quality of the display panel is much lower then the one I purchased about 1 year earlier.
There is ghosting and tearing on the same settings.
The colors are inaccurate way off, after hours of testing, there is no possible setting to match the same color and brightness as the first screen.
The most annoying for daily use is the yellow in the panel which is overdominating.

There are still plenty of good reviews for the VG259QM on the internet.
I guess Asus just keeps using the same model name and number just to keep selling this for max profit.
Again, in my opinion this is customer deception by ASUS.

I've seen some 280Hz "noname" monitors on AliExpress website wondering if they are the same as in VG259QM/VG279QM.
It seems to be the other way around now - worse panels in ASUS monitors (judging by the post above). 🤔

Yeah this is not cool from Asus.

There are identically specd VG259QMY and VG279QMY that came out much later. That could be it. But I'm just guessing. Can you check?

I'm playing CS:GO and Valorant 400 FPS cap.
What would you recommend me?
280 HZ
OD 120
Adaptive Sync Off
ELMB Off
FPS Mode, saturation to 45-47

alternatively 280hz with 280fps cap with ELMB-Sync Enabled (Adaptive Sync OFF).
if you can output 280fps with no spikes and you can handle the brightness reduction ^this^ should give you the best clarity.

I see you are testing Omen x25 ATM, im using x25 f and Im interested to buy vg259qm to get IPS panel. Im quite sensitive to motion clarity so maybe someone can tell how these two monitors compare.

The VG259QM has more black smearing in dark scenes, if you want an IPS with fast response times you should consider the S2522HG.

That's true, but the VG259QM is still a very responsive and fast display with low input lag and good response time. It has low ghosting and the motion blur is very good.

I use it on 280Hz with 120OD tweak, and I'm playing mostly competetive games. I think this panel is faster than some TN-s, like the XG248Q, AW2518HF, VG258QM. (I used these monitors for months.)

In motion clarity, I think it's not easy to upgrade from az omen x 25... That panel is very fast and clear.
