Hello everyone.
I think everyone has lost interest already, but here in Japan the VG259QM was released as a "new product" in July 2022.
For reference, the details of my VG259QM panel and FW are as follows.

Indeed, last month there was an announcement of this monitor on some websites... (again?)

Logically related to the release of the VG259QM in other counties. :geek:
I got a heavy sense of deja vu from this news. :D

Hey, I got this monitor on monday. Going from 60hz all the way up to 280hz is something else. However, since day 1 i noticed something in the bottom left corner (faint white vertical lines approx. 2-3cm tall, going from the left edge of the screen and it stops ~5cm from asus logo). I hope you can see it. It's hard to capture on a phone camera. Kinda looks like backlight bleed, but i'm not sure what it is exactly. I don't really notice that when gaming, only when i look at it. It's hard to see on black backgrounds, but it does pop out on some brighter stuff and it's really noticeable. Can someone explain what that is and do I RMA this monitor or not? Can something like this become worse or maybe it will disappear? Any help is appreciated

Hey everyone!

VG258QM owner here (no thread for that model, so thought I'd squeeze my question in here- hope that's ok)

Could someone recommend me a good quality Display-Port cable for this monitor (I run it at the maximum 280Hz)

Also, are there any HDMI cables that would support up to the maximum 280hz, or at least 240hz?

Sure, I'm only giving guidelines on how to make use of OD120, aside from Shadow Boost being a key feature to remove overshoot in this specific scenario, you can mess with every other setting with no meaningful impact response times.

Hello again Axaro1,

I still use the settings you gave me when I bought the monitor in 2020. Based on your advice, I'd like to make some changes now.

I'm playing CS:GO and Valorant 400 FPS cap. My old settings are below.

What would you recommend me?

240 HZ
OD 60
Adaptive Sync Off
ELMB Off
Racing Mod (Rtings ICC)
Shadow Boost Off
Contrast 70
Vividpixel 0
Color Temp Normal

280 HZ
OD 120
Adaptive Sync Off
ELMB Off
FPS Mode, saturation to 45-47

alternatively 280hz with 280fps cap with ELMB-Sync Enabled (Adaptive Sync OFF).
if you can output 280fps with no spikes and you can handle the brightness reduction ^this^ should give you the best clarity.

I ran into a problem where my refresh rate would randomly switch from 280 or 240 back to 144hz and stay capped there unless i reboot my system. Did you run into this problem? I looked it up and it seems that this is a common problem however I have not found a solution.
