Am I missing something? I am interested in this VG259QM monitor, but ASUS has not indicated that it is comptible with the Xbox Series X with 120hz @ 1080p over HDMI ( Source: https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1045097 )

Funny enough, the VG258QM is listed as compatible at the above link. The only difference I can see is that one is IPS and the other is TN. Thanks!

Hey guys, the search doesn't give me results, what's the panel name of your VG259QM? I just got a new unit of this monitor yesterday and I'm not sure if the panel is the same. Seems like this unit is a newer batch (Dec 2020, previously had all from Nov 2020 I think). The panel name on my unit is Qisda Q250HAA00. Is it the same?

What is the best response time overdrive? To play competitively at 240 or 280Hz

OD120 or OD80.
For CS:GO I use OD80 without any problem, it could be different for other games, you have to try that for yourself maybe you have to lower it to OD120 or OD60

OD120 is the best for 280 Hz in my opinion. It's an overdrive level hidden in factory menu for some reason, even though it works the best for this monitor. Despite its name, OD120 is a middle ground between OD60 and OD80. OD120 provides good response time with less overshoot than OD80. First page of this thread explains how to enable OD120. I agree with Max_hz that OD80 is totally usable for CSGO as well, although you might notice overshoot.

is anyone using ASUS VG259QM 27inch but playing at a lower resolution?

is the pixel squares noticeable in-game? due to it's low pixel density

Can someone test GPU vs Display Scaling with this monitor?
GPU scaling seems better for me using 2000-series Nvidia card. But my observations are based on one game, curious how other titles will perform. :?:

Hello

does anyone know a preset, custom ICC or profile that could allow black to appear deeper in the VG259QM?
I often feel it lakes this deep contour on things. On this picture taken from Axaro1 youtube channel comparing the Benq XL2546K on the left and the Asus (OD 120) on the right you see what I'm talking about and towards what I'm striving to...

Heyo, I'm new both to the forums and to monitor talk in general. =x

speancer and others, did you find / do you own units that don't exhibit the pixel inversion problem at all? This is the 2nd Asus monitor I've tried that has the issue, though on this one it's very minor at 240~280hz, and I wouldn't complain about it. However, when trying to run Doom Eternal on my GTX 1080, with FPS fluctuating between 100-144 at max settings with GSync on, and it definitely starts to become more severe and distracting, ruining my immersion. Basically any game below 240hz and I really start to notice it.

This'll potentially be my third monitor return in a couple years (the prior two models I've tried were full on defective), and I don't know if at some point I simply need to accept pixel inversion with monitors like these, or if I can risk playing the panel lottery just a bit more to try to find something that's crystal clear no matter the refresh rate. And if it's something that I shouldn't have to deal with on a $400 monitor, I guess I don't know if I should return and rebuy one (I got mine at Best Buy), or if I'd have more luck RMAing with Asus to see if they could do anything about it, or what.

Thanks. =x

Okie I got the ASUS VG259QM 24.5inch, I believe this may be the last batch and the item is going to be end of life.

MY last monitor is the BenQ xl2411z after getting this monitor it took me a while to adjust to the colors and brightness. The white seems too bright compare to my old benq monitor which was easy for my eyes even in games.

I use Display port 1.2 and I don't have issues when changing resolution or alt-tabbing it doesn't take long I have perform scaling on GPU in Nvidia control panel.

My settings on the monitor

brightness: 30-35
Contrast: 80
Adaptive-sync: ON
ELMB: OFF
VividPixel:25
OverDrive: 120
Overclock: 280hz
GameVisual: Fps mode

Nvidia control panel settings:

Digital Vibrance: 70%
Gamma: +1.31

Games played: CSGO, quake live, Black ops
