"It seems quite soon for a monitor like this one to randomly die, I hope my Asus doesn't end up dying after 1 year ( that's why I stayed away from the 27GK750F-B)."

Don't you have a 3 yrs warranty from Asus?

Standard Warranty period of the Product

This Warranty applies for 36 months period from the date the Product was first purchased by an end-customer ("Date of Purchase"). If proof of purchase cannot be provided, the manufacture date as recorded by ASUS will be deemed to be the start of the Warranty Period. ASUS warrants the Product to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for the Warranty Period.

The Warranty does not cover bundled accessories, which were delivered together with the Product such as: cables, free gifts etc. If the Product fails during normal and proper use within the Warranty Period, ASUS, at its discretion, will repair or replace the defective parts of the Product, or the Product itself, with new or reconditioned parts or products that are functionally equivalent or superior to those originally supplied.

Yes I know about the warranty period,
you said "I hope my Asus doesn't end up dying after 1 year" so I thought in that case you still got two years warranty left that's why I asked you "Don't you have a 3 yrs warranty from Asus?"
Maybe I misunderstood you, no problem.

Weird thing. Suddenly it worked at the retailer's service center. My face was like: Image
Service guy was nice, even checked monitor's power supply voltage and it's okay. :/ Asked him what it can be. He didn't say anything specific. The real problem now that I can't return a "working" product, only within 14 days after deal. damn

Yes always annoying when something is broken and not at the service center, I know that situations ;) I can imagine you have lost your trust in the product and want to exchange it.

On the other side if it's only the power supply than it's easy to fix also sometimes the plug of the power supply (which you connect on the monitor) isn't firm enough (loose contacts) to make always a reliable contact and maybe that's the reason the monitor worked at the service center again.

I highly recommend returning your VG259QM and trying another until you get one that doesn't have pixel inversion issues.
That's the plan! ASUS VG259QM is still the best monitor for competitive FPS I've tested so far. There's a high chance it could end up as my final choice, but I still have some other displays to test :)

I've tried 2 times the Omen X25f and both suffered from pixel inversion artifacts (vertical lines) and they were clearly visible in CS:GO.
With the VG259QM I don't see them at all, I think it's a panel lottery issue.
Curious about your experiences with the X 25f maybe you are lucky!
If I had to choose between those 2 (which I did) the VG259QM is a big winner.
Yup, my Omen X 25f has pixel inversion artifacts issue as well, clearly visible vertical lines appear on the screen. It's better than Zowie XL2546 (which also had pronounced pixel inversion artifacts) in my opinion, but that's to be expected, cuz it's newer (and faster). It has pretty good colours for a TN, viewing angles are also not horrible as for a TN panel. It's pretty good monitor overall, I don't have issues performing well in CS:GO on it, but if I had to choose between X 25f and VG259QM, I'd choose the ASUS as you did. VG259QM really has the clearest UFO Ghosting Test I've ever seen so far I think (280 Hz + OD60), especially on 960 pixel speed, and even though the UFOs have blur trails on 1920 pixel speed, they themselves appear clearer and sharper than on Omen, and opponents in motion in-game appear sharper too, based on my comparisons. UFOs don't really have blur trails on X 25f even on 1920 pixel speed (on optimal overdrive: Level 3), but they look LESS clear regardless (on both 960 and 1920 pixel speed), as from what I could tell in my comparisons. So it's weird, because even though there seems to be much less blur on X 25f during rapid motion (in UFO Test), moving enemies in-game seemed to actually look clearer to me on the ASUS anyway. HP Omen X 25f is a good monitor for competitive FPS, but VG259QM's motion handling is just insanely good for an IPS panel, its inversion artifacts are less pronounced as well (some other users here say their units don't have this problem at all, panel lottery most likely), and I will always prefer IPS, especially if it performs as good as TN, especially that TNs seem to have more of a problem with inversion artifacts in general. I perform extremely well on VG259QM, three days ago I beat my personal best, 3.84 KD (146 kills, 38 deaths) during Deathmatch warmup in CS:GO (that's the score from joining the game till time's up). I can't wait to test ASUS PG259QN (360 Hz IPS). I'm waiting for XL2546K release, should be available within 2 weeks at my local stores, I'm curious how will it perform compared to VG259QM and ultimately against PG259QN. From my recent benchmarks using RTSS, my average frame rate is about 320-340 fps during competitive match, so buying 360 Hz monitor makes sense.

The default resolutions detected by my nvidia driver are all GPU-scaled. This can be verified in the display menu which shows 1920x1080, no matter what resolution or what scaling method is chosen in the nvidia control panel. This adds a significant lag for my gameplay even at 240hz. Creating custom resolution can resolve this - select either GTF or CVT timing.

Another thing is that although overdrive works well in 1920x1080@280, it flickers in 1152x864@280 (the resolution I needed), so I ended up using 1152x864@240.

How does 280hz/240hz ELMB compare to Dyac/MBR on the XL2546 and the MAG?

Thanks for your feedback, the Omen is indeed a good and fast monitor and if it hadn't been for pixel inversion artifacts I would have kept it. The Omen is slightly faster than the Asus but negligible in my opinion and I couldn't feel the difference in game.
The UFO Ghosting Test is certainly valuable and useful for comparing monitors and settings but it is not always comparable to the experience you get in the game in my case CS:GO.
The "vertical lines" spoil the clear view during movements and in this way negate the advantage of 240hz.
With the Asus I have no problems with this at all (they just aren't there) and if you take the other advantages such as IPS, ergonomics, ELMB (sync), possibility of overclocking then the choice between the two is not that difficult.
A kd of 3.84 as you say is very good and also indicates that the monitor meets the expected performance, having said that I can well imagine that you will eventually choose the 360hz version if you want to accept the price difference, I personally think it's quite big.
I wonder what your choice will be after testing the XL2546K and the PG259QN, in the end they are all good monitors that will make the choice a bit more difficult.
