i will never consider a fast g2g average if there are inverse ghosting coronas.
as a matter of fact, the VG259QM on OD 60 is better tuned than a monitor with a faster g2g average with 1 % overshoot.
+1

And is needed to take into account also than Hardware Unboxed not show GtG curves from osciloscope, so we don't know how they measure the GtG. Maybe they take only one fraction of the curve, and these cuts can hide extra undershot and overshot :( Is supposed than at least all its reviews use the same rule, but can't be 100% sure, they hide this basic data  In order of global fair comparison of GtG betwhen all monitor reviews, is mandatory show 100% transitions, like Rtings do.

With strobing, crosstalk ruin the motion smoothness. Sadly PG259QN can't strobe under 144Hz, where it can have some possibility of run 60 to 100Hz range crosstalk free. High hype and price, but again the same song, does not have the versatility to run allways motion blur free independent of the frequency, nor can't beat the high quality motion smoothness of the old CRT monitors. If can't strobe content locked at 60FPS, nor 120Hz + software BFI, can't replace MAME cabinets. Viewsonic XG270 is much better for this task.

Seems designed only with high frequency in mind, is not versatile for use it also for modern 60FPS games, old emulator games, 60p streaming. All this content on this PG259QN will sadly show a long MPRT 16.6ms, ugly trail of motion blur. CRT monitor MPRT ~1ms

Is a very good gaming LCD monitor, but is needed much more to beat CRT. Can't understand ASUS and Nvidia locked this monitor strobing under 144Hz, it can do a very good job is is well tuned. Hope some of the IPS 360Hz get the BlurBusters Approved sticker, sure its much more interesting than this PG259QN. Or maybe ASUS surprise us with a new firmware unloking more strobing frequencies ? Sadly i think not occur.

I think most that buy this won't be playing much 60 fps games, like I said there's way more people playing low fps games because on the current 1440p monitors where they don't care as much and think 60 is perfectly fine as long as the graphics look great.
Sure there will be some using GSync on this monitor if it's their only monitor and use it for more than esports games(probably people that don't have the hardware to be well above 200 fps at all times too), but in my opinion I'd rather save money and have no Gsync at 360hz, it's not needed at all, it's not needed at a solid 240hz either as the tears are so minimal and I've never experienced stutters when I'm in the 240 fps range. I'm sure there will be Freesync models anyway down the road so no big deal.
Fighting games are probably the only genre that'll benefit from G-sync/Free sync at lower fps numbers (60) and higher refresh rates (such as a 360hz)

A 360hz monitor with g sync/free sync in a 60fps locked game does magic in lowering latency and making the game run buttersmooth.

The mid-screen latency difference between 240Hz and 360Hz is 0.7ms. That's not exactly "magic" :P

I'm planning to use this monitor anywhere between 30-200 FPS range with G-sync, and im seeing some comments here about over/undershoot. From what I gathered in the HW Unboxed video, the slides do indeed show higher error percentages the further you go below 360hz.

Is this likely to be an issue while using variable refresh rate, or are there better choices for 24" IPS with a G-sync module in terms of pixel response and over/undershoot?

Buttersmooth 16.6ms of motion blur trail ? i hope it's a joke

Sadly not all high frequency monitors have low latency at 60Hz. ASUS not care to much about this lately, for example last ASUS IPS 280Hz VG259QM and VG279QM

60Hz fixed frequency: 35ms
60Hz VRR: 40.3ms

60Hz fixed frequency: 14.2ms
60Hz VRR: 15ms

Monitor is a waste. They must've decided to release this over the 360hz TN panel from '19 due to troubles with the new AOC panels it doesn't seem like were ever completely ironed out. I went through about five of them before I got one that was satisfactory and even then I'm not sure if it was changed out with a older panel due to aforementioned problems with QA.

Either way, holding out for a 360hz TN panel. There is no point in having fast refresh rate if the response time can't take advantage of it in most cases and on a regular basis. Absolute fastest possible transition times so the monitor naturally 'holds' the picture, similar to ULMB without ULMB.

This was about 360Hz, not 60Hz. You wouldn't run 60Hz VRR on a high refresh rate monitor.

OD Normal a lot sharper than his MSI on Fast but a bit more inverse ghosting but he doesn't notice in gaming, but he noticed the MSI on Fastest had ghosting that he noticed so he uses Fast. Still thinks his Alienware TN is a bit sharper but also not noticeable in gaming.

He talks about ULMB as well and the capped brightness limitation: https://youtu.be/gGssIG9cH6k?t=435

Just goes to show that Zowie DyAc+ is still the best on the market and these 360 hz motion blur samples he shows are definitely a lot worse than I get with my Zowie XL2746S.

I wonder why they capped the brightness meanwhile my "lower tier TUF" VG259qm I can adjust the brightness with ulmb on and it's blinding to me, this 360hz does have a higher max brightness than mine too. I have it around 40 and 30 with ulmb off, so switching it on or off doesn't change the brightness.
