Hi guys !
I wanted to change my current monitor (Asus PG258Q) for a IPS monitor.
What I'm using now is only competetive gaming.
Question :
1. IPS can still faster as a TN panel ?
2. Which 25" IPS monitors now the best on the market ? (240hz or 280hz)
Best IPS for competetive gaming ?
Re: Best IPS for competetive gaming ?
Fastest TN panels are still a bit faster than IPS.
Any of the 240 IPS are pretty similar, gotta try them to find the best one for you.
MSI MAG271RX, ASUS VG259QM, Dell Alienware AW2520HF etc, some good 27" ones too but most prefer 25"

TN faster than IPS, best IPS are all 27'', 25'' are good but have some overshoot (competitive gaming is better at 25'' though)
Re: Best IPS for competetive gaming ?
I have two 240hz TN's and an IPS. When they're side by side yes the IPS is more colorful, but I still prefer the way the TN brightness and contrast pops. If all you play is competitive I would still stick to TN, I just find them slightly better for seeing enemies smoothly.
I use the IPS currently because I am playing survival/strategy/coop games and the viewing angle is quite nice for kicking back while keeping a good refresh rate.

Re: Best IPS for competetive gaming ?
I Have the Omen x25f wich is really fast and i want to send it back because colors looks kind of washed and i want to buy an ips but im a bit worried because i play only on dark room and i dont know If its good or better stay with the tn panel. Btw im a hardcore fps gamer.
Re: Best IPS for competetive gaming ?
I am also looking for new monitor. I play lot of FPS games like CS:GO.
Which is the best monitor on the market. I checked out the list but there is no ranking which
one is better.
My criteria are 24" - 25", 1920x1080, 240Hz or 360Hz.
I was looking on PG259QN but not sure if it is worth of waiting.
Thank you.

Competitively (as in you want to win as much as possible). Also, this presumes there are 2 players, both are the best in the world with equal/similar skillset; however, one using the predator xb253q gx monitor and the other using a different monitor. In the long run, the predator xb253qgx will win
it really has the lowest input lag and one of 2 monitors to have ever reached the 2ms result by Guessing when the green color will appear by pre clicking my button on that human benchmark website. That was with a 1000 polling rate playstation 4 controller showing 0.99 to 1ms input lag

So, the xb253qgx is your final pick?RLCScontender wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020, 23:16Competitively (as in you want to win as much as possible). In fact the best competitive monitor is the same as you using on LAN tournaments. No need to get used to new lag value/retrain muscle memory. Of course if you have any profit from such events. People will argue about this, but here is the fact: one of the best cs:go players s1mple still using XL2540 monitor - first gen TN 240Hz panel back from 2016(!), and many LANs still have it too.

But if games are just your hobby then look for advice from the guys above.

my alienware is my workhorse monitor and my current main. My mag251rx is my luxury monitor.(i use it sparingly because i won the panel lottery by returning it over and over and over until hit the jackpot.sdx wrote: ↑18 Sep 2020, 14:23So, the xb253qgx is your final pick?RLCScontender wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020, 23:16Competitively (as in you want to win as much as possible).
