xl2731 vs xl2411p

Hello,

I am blind so I need a minimum of 27 inches for my monitor, or I would probably just buy the xl 2411p. So as far as I can tell, the most comparable one to the xl2411p is xl2731. How do they compare?

I really wanted zowie because of their black equalizer. I mostly play battle royal games and have watched videos of their black equlizer compared to other brands, and from what I can tell it's way better at allowing me to see people hiding in shadows. (if you have visual recommendations of other ones I am open to hearing, but it seems like theirs is the best)

I would love your comparison of pro's and cons. If you think the xl2731 is good. Also keep in mind that I would way prefer a 240hz one such as the xl2740, but it's out of my price range (850 canadian compared to like 400 bucks canadian).

I have just heard about an upcoming 32 inch 240Hz screen, if this is of any interst to you in the future.

Also, you can get 240Hz for far less than $800. The 27-inch 280Hz 1ms ASUS IPS monitor, the ASUS VG279QM on Amazon Canada, for just barely above $500 Canadian.

As long as you keep it at 240Hz PC (not 60Hz consoles), the VG279QM is low enough latency (under 2ms latency from RTINGS) to compete with the BenQs in lag, and your vision limitations probably may prioritize a bright IPS panel such as this one. The new "1ms IPS" running at above 240Hz is now esports-fast enough to compete in the major leagues now.

I would be very interested in a 32 inch. Honestly that is what I normally use when I was using a tv, but when I switched to a monitor I had trouble finding much over 27 inch that wasn't ALOT of money for decent refresh and input lag.


I am going to check out the 27 inch you suggested. Any comment on if it has any type of useful black equalizer to minimize shadows like the BENQ one has? I know many monitors have them, but from what I could see in comparison videos, were not nearly as effective.

Yes, it does, it has Shadow Boost.

I know many monitors have them, but from what I could see in comparison videos, were not nearly as effective.

You can also use NVIDIA Control Panel -> Adjust Desktop Color Settings -> Use NVIDIA Settgs -> Gamma as an extra additional shadow boost (even stacked on top of the monitor's Shadow Boost). It can achieve extremely bright gamma of 2.8 but if you combine/stack it on top of the ASUS shadow boosting, you can easily exceed 3.0-3.5+, far beyond the needs of most vision-impaired people.

Do you know if amd has any options like this for shadows? I currently use a rx 590 until i upgrade that.

Has some had succes overclocking the XL2731 so far?
I can not exceed 164HZ - would be happy if someone shared setting.
I think this model has no S-Swtich.
