newbie here. I just got this monitor, and liking it quite well (after 1h of testing :D ). One thing made me wonder:

In Overwatch, if I enable nvidia Reflex with G-sync and v-sync, it caps the framerate to ~320fps when on 360hz - which seems very low.
Is this just a bug in the implementation or might there be any good reason for it to behave like that?

I believe this is what happens when using reflex or nvidia ultra low latency + gsync + vsync, if I am not mistaken,

for example 240 hz will be ~220 cap and so on, I forgot where exactly there was some framelimiter tests confirming this, was maybe on the youtube channel battleNonsense (this guy has some great button-to-pixel delay lag tests with highspeed camera, and testing different combinations of sync methods/framelimiters/fps and hz settings etc)

maybe you could instead try to not use reflex and then cap fps with ingame frame limiter to -3 fps so in this case 360hz - 3 fps = 357 fps, or use RTSS to cap to 357 fps, but in-game frame limiters usually have lower input latency (but tradeoff can be less smooth and stable frametimes vs RTSS option)

if overwatch has internal framelimiter (or via config file) how does it feel/look if you cap to 357 fps with gsync+vsync enabled? for example? or just gsync + 357 fps cap? (which should be more or less identical to gsync+vsync+357 fps cap if I remember my sync stuff properly  )

PS. IF i can ask you, how do you like the ULMB on this monitor at 240/144 hz and 240 fps/144fps? (or as high stable fps as you can get with 240hz/144hz ULMB) , do you notice any strobing crosstalk / artifacts etc? and do you feel it helps your aim in very fast movements etc or no? ty!

yeah, thats what i've done, the traditional in game fps cap, without v-sync for now.
It seems to me almost that the fps cap nvidia does, is just some percentage based so the higher hz you have the higher the cap.
limiting 360 all the way down to 320 seems to me quite excessive, as the usual recommendation has been 3-6fps, but maybe they have some reason to do it like that?

ULMB to me is very usable at 240 & 144hz.
It is bright enough compared to other monitors i have had with which it was always too dark even in a dimly lit room.
crosstalk is visible in some situations if you look for it

But at 360hz/360fps the motion is very clear to my eyes and I have hard time deciding which is actually better in a game like overwatch.
Yes, ulmb is "sharper" but the difference really isnt huge anymore IMHO. But i'll do some more testing eventually as with this ulmb is actually usable.

If you have a game that cannot push 360fps, but can do stable 144fps, then ULMB is very usable option.
I even had ulmb enabled for a while on desktop during normal use and didnt notice it until later. :D

60hz ulmb also worked by doing the "trick" that was posted somewhere here; but i didnt really try much with it other than verify it did work, with of course very visible strobing.

nice, tnx for the info ! am interested in either this asus or the alienware 360hz monitor so is why I was asking a bit :d

but I really love ULMB tech and am super sensitive to motion blur so for me this is important aspect, and like u say not all games can push 360 fps so is nice to have, but about reason why nvidia automatically limits so much lower than just -3 fps I have no idea..

as long as u feel happy with the settings and feeling now then is all good I guess !

Why would an older 144hz monitor (XG2402) perform better though? I can't think of any reasons.

I am confused on what you think youre experiencing here. How would a XL2546K with dyac+ be worse than the XG2402? How can a newer 240hz panel be worse than an older 144hz panel? I cant imagine input lag or response time being that different from a 144hz xg2402.... Placebo maybe?
Both great questions. (its def not placebo in QL, some movements where impossible to do on the XL2546K for example someone falling down fast close then tracking then railing (hard to explain )) If I had the answer I would give it. Maybe 1k pollingrate mice run better on the XG2402 144 hz in Quake Live. I just ordered the 8k Viper for my 360hz monitor next week. i will keep u guys posted...
Ok the Alienware AW2521H 360hz just arrived today. To make a long story short: Its very very good Its better then the XL2546K and the XG2402 also in Quake Live . no question about it. Its the monitor i was looking for. I am still top notch in QL and even much better!: i pulled off some combos, moves and insane highscores that felt very very good. believe it or not.

Also worth mentioning: The 360hz feels easy on your eyes. The Dyac on the XL2546K drained my energy way quicker. The IPS is very nice also.

Ok thats it. Tnx guys!!!!
Hey daviddave1! I've read your feedback about the AW2521H and that sounds really great! I want also buy one, but I'm not sure why some Pro's switched back from this new 360Hz Alienware AW2521H to the Zowie XL2546 or 2546K. That seems to me like a sponsoring from Dell and the Pro's still prefer the 240Hz models XL2546 or 2546K. (after they have done a bit of advertising for the new AW2521H).

For example pro player ScreaM from Team Liquid, he advertise the new 360Hz AW2521H in one of his youtube videos, but in his newer videos or streams he used again his old XL2546. Maybe it is better to buy the XL2546 or XL2546K? Maybe TN-Panel is still better and the king?
I never heard of players switching back to the xl2546k with any monitor. I did hear some switching back from the xl2546k to the xl2546 though. Ps im still happy with the alienware 360 one of the best purchases i did in a long time. Go check out fr33thys review if u still onsure.

Can you share your best setting on the monitor? I mainly play FPS-Games like Apex Legends so maybe do you have some good recommendations from your own experience with the AW2521H?

Hey guys, I want to ask is ULMB on the PG259QN similar to DyAc on the XL2546k other than brightness? Or is DyAc much better in other ways to?

Because I’ve been told to sell my PG259QN for the XL2546K because DyAc is worth it, especially for a overwatch player lol.

Need some advice thanks.
