Well, today is a sad day. I packed up my PG259QN for RMA. I am still getting the green and pink screen every now and then. The only way to fix it is to unplug and plug back in the ac adapter. My dilemma now is to RMA to Asus or Newegg and get my money back. I am leaning towards getting my money back. I think the smoothness of the 360hz is amazing but, to me, everything else is average. I hooked up my old 144hz TN and the color on it really wasn't much worse than the 360.

I am afraid that if I RMA to Asus they will just repair it and it might happen again. They also seem very strict about RMA checklist and identifying any damage. I have not damaged this monitor but what if something happens in shipping. Or the only thing I possibly could have done was screw the screws to tight when I vesa mounted it. This is a bit of paranoia but Im trying to think of worst case scenario.

If I RMA to Newegg, I would assume that they would just refund my money without much hassle. The downside here is that I no longer will have the monitor and I'm back to 144hz until something comes in stock or I find something else I like.

If anyone can shed some light on these RMA processes or my dilemma, I would greatly appreciate it.

It's been fun guys. Hopefully, I will eventually get what I want.

Seems these 360hz monitors have some bad panels or we are just unlucky, I see others on Reddit too with weird panel issues, and mine that I just returned and ordered a replacement had the most lit pixels I've ever seen in my life

Hey, I have this monitor for about two months now and personally havent had any issues with dead/lit pixels etc.

However there is something weird that happens when you display a full black image (for example in a dead pixel test) and you move your mouse in and out of the screen. The black will be a nice and dark black aslong as the mouse is off screen, but once you move it insight the screen, the entire screen will "light up" and flicker between different brightness steps as you move the cursor across.

Now, from my experience this behaviour only happens on a fully black screen, as whenever there is the lightest bit of colour or lit up pixel the screen defaults to a "lighter black". I can only assume this happens because the screen does not have any dimming zones or local dimming, so when one section of the screen lights up, the entire screen lights up, but that doesnt explain why it would flicker between different brightness settings even though you are only moving the same white cursor across a black screen.

This is not something that I notice in daily use, but that could potentially impact picture quality if black levels werent consistent once there is a moving image. I was just wondering if you guys experience the same "flickering" on your screens and what you think of it?

This might be VRR / GSYNC induced flickering since the color of black can vary ever so slightly at different refresh rates (frame rates).

Bought PG259QN-R, the version with reflex. I was curious if Asus took the panels that had didn't come out great and shoved them into the cheaper 800 euro version of the monitor. I kid you not when I say I opened this monitor and it has fucking 0 backlight bleed. It's literally perfect. 0.80 delta e. I tried 3 different PG259QN and they all looked like shit in comparison to this PG259QN-R. Maybe luck, maybe some bullshit. GGs I'm out lmao.
I think you just got lucky, many non Reflex displays had a delta of 0.5 to 0.7.

Just got my second PG259QN, either I'm super unlucky or the QC/panel is just trash, at least 4 lit pixels and 1 red one

So how come strobing on the Asus super dim compared to the 360hz Alienware when using the same panel. Is it the length of strobes? I guess there's no way for me to change that at all.

Hence why I got a refund for my PG259QN and got the Alienware instead! Haven't had a single issue with that one. Historically Asus has been decent but I feel they rushed things with the PG259QN to be the first to claim the 360hz... and they cut corners. A LOT of corners.
