Hello, Im a overwatch player

Wanted to ask you after ur testing what u felt was best? :D
I at least prefer PG259QN w/ GSYNC now if I can run the game at stable 300+ fps, like overwatch.
300+fps at 360hz does feel somehow different to good old 240hz, and took surprisingly long time to get fully used to (a few weeks?). Hard to explain.
But now it feels absolutely great.

To have the display "pop" in game even more, I've set brightness high in monitor, increased contrast in game and then also increased saturation & sharpness via NVCP. (or use vibranceGUI to set application specific vibrance).
Sharpness via nvcp as the monitor doesn't have its own sharpness setting, which is my biggest gripe.
The display seems to handle increase in those values quite well.

Thought to post it here, regarding the Reflex+V-sync capping fps to ~327, there is a 'workaround' for it; at least working in overwatch

If you set g-sync settings to "full screen mode only" in NVCP, then there is no fps cap applied by the drivers, at least on v.466.47 (latest as of now). With game settings being "use 3d application settings" for v-sync. ie. v-sync enabled in game.
with "full screen and windowed mode" there is the cap applied.. may be an oversight in the drivers, or who knows?

Interesting - read one post on another forum from 2020 regarding my issue.

I have just purchased the Asus PG259QNR 360 Hz monitor to go with the EVGA 3080ti FTW3 Ultra I was lucky to get from the EVGA Queue, with 40% off to boot - my future RNG in all games has now gone.

So today, I was upgrading my RAM on my B450 Tomahawk Max ATX board, Ryzen 7 5800X, from G-Skill 3200 CL16 to G-Skill 3600 CL16 - checked compatibility and no problem.

Plan was install, boot into BIOS, retick XMP and Re-Bar and back to normal - easy peasy.

Nope.

Could not get into BIOS.

Long story short after doing several things, I went with my gut right from the start and swapped back to my ASUS 144/165hz monitor - and booted into BIOS no problem. And yes, before I did that I dropped my 360Hz monitor down to 144 and it didn't work. Did the slow boot as well, no joy.

So this is a problem, I've read one other poster who had same problem.

Is there a known problem with the ASUS PG259QN/R 360Hz monitor not being able to display BIOS screen?

Thank-you all and appreciate any help.

360 Hz is worth it in many fronts, but obviously, GtG response is the biggest brick wall limiting factor diminishing 240Hz versus 360Hz at this time. It's clearly visible when you properly whac-a-mole the weak links (framerate, GPU, mouse, game optimization, no multimonitor, etc) -- but instead of 1.5x better, it's more like 1.3x better(ish). It's easy to not tell the difference if you haven't properly optimized -- systems have so many weak links that you must optimize to whac a mole all them away. For example, I now also have the prototype 8000 Hz Razer mouse, and it's helping 360 Hz mucho.

For many laypeople, it's marginal for my usual Blur Busters upgrade recommendation, "upgrade your refresh rate and frame rate by 2x". e.g. 120Hz -> 240Hz -> 480Hz.

Mind you, I don't have the 280 Hz monitor or the MSI model, so I can't versus it againts the older 280 Hz ASUS monitor, or the MSI monitor here.

İ got PG259QN Monitor and i have a issue. My screen goes black and came normal but its like 1 milisecond and its happing very rare. İts happening while waiting on desktop or searching somethink on google. İ got my default cables. İ send it to asus RMA service and they said there is no problem and they give me new display port cable. @Chief Blur Buster

I just came from a TN panel (ASUS VG248QE) and i feel like the motion clarity is a big downgrade. Like there is much more motion blur. Anyone else who feels like this?

I just did the UFO test - can't get my iPhone to take a good shot - but this monitor is crystal clear. Literally perfect - 360 on the nose, and a crystal clear Alien! lol

From post couple above, I had to plug in my old ASUS 165Hz monitor to access BIOS, still can't figure out why this 360Hz monitor won't display BIOS - everything, drivers, chipset, BIOS all on the latest versions.

Anyhow, looking at my old ASUS monitor compared to this is literally night and day - could never go back.

And my Razer 8k Mouse arrived this morning - yes, what a difference with these monitors - difference is like going from using your thumbs to a finely tuned instrument - great forum.

Small world, indeed!

Glad you’re enjoying your 360Hz monitor.

I do would like to know if anyone local has the new 390 Hz monitors — that one, I haven’t seen just yet.
