Is there a way to run HD 4600 on 120hz?

I Just bought a new XL2420z. At the moment I only have integrated graphics (i7-4770k/HD4600/z87-ud4h) and I want to know if it is possible to run this monitor at 120hz. I am planning on purchasing a GTX 770 however in the mean time it would be great to see what this monitor can do.

As long as it has a dual dvi link port, it can run 120hz. I know the 4890 had a dual link and ran 120hz on the Samsung 2233rz, but no idea if the 4600 has one. It should.

You should be able to run 120Hz or even higher. I was running 120Hz with a Radeon 7500. And that was in 2001.

Are you having problems? Or is the monitor not here yet and you were just wondering if you'll run into problems?

it's dual-link dvi on the mobo + dual link cable w/ the xl2420z monitor. On the drop down menu no options for 120hz

In the Device Manager, in the monitor's properties dialog, check whether there's an option for enabling all refresh rates (like a checkbox or something.)

If not, try creating your own 120Hz mode manually with ToastyX's CRU (download here).
