Why would an older 144hz monitor (XG2402) perform better though? I can't think of any reasons.

Yesterday i got the XL2546K: The colors and textures look great: Especially in PUBG and MW. U have a big advantage in spotting enemy's.

But I also play Quake Live. There's a huge difference in the amount of frags I can get with my XG2402 and the XL2546K. On the XL2546K I am just a regular player. Above average at best.

On the XL2546K I had a couple times where my plasma gun just couldn't catch up with the enemy or my mouse movement. I just switched back to the XG2402 and the difference is humongous.
On the XG2402 for example I am 9 of 10 at the top of the list on the servers I usually play. With the XL2546K its something like 3 out of 10. I like Quake Live just for that. It's a game where I am actually good at. I don't wanna give that up.

So unfortunately the XL2546K is going back to the store tomorrow for a refund.

I am going to give the 360hz a try. If its also mediocre @ Quake Live I'm going to stick with the XG2402 until the new Viewsonic 24'' 240 IPS comes out. Around next week the Alienware AW2521H 360hz should arrive. I will keep u guys posted.
I am confused on what you think youre experiencing here. How would a XL2546K with dyac+ be worse than the XG2402? How can a newer 240hz panel be worse than an older 144hz panel? I cant imagine input lag or response time being that different from a 144hz xg2402.... Placebo maybe?
Both great questions. (its def not placebo in QL, some movements where impossible to do on the XL2546K for example someone falling down fast close then tracking then railing (hard to explain )) If I had the answer I would give it. Maybe 1k pollingrate mice run better on the XG2402 144 hz in Quake Live. I just ordered the 8k Viper for my 360hz monitor next week. i will keep u guys posted...

Maybe it's what they are discussing in this thread (page 4, march 28th), that pixels are fully transitioned with 144 Hz but have no time to be fully transitioned with 360 Hz. Partly-transitioned pixels being responsible for motion blur.
144 Hz : 6.94 ms
360 Hz : 2.78 ms
That would mean that with one given monitor, decreasing refresh rate could decrease motion blur. While of course decreasing motion smoothness related to stroboscopics.

I'm all in on this 144hz train. For the hell of it I just started using my old vg248qe and my aim is actually good again.

This seems crazy to me that there would be such a big difference in feel and aim with a 144hz compared to a 240hz like the XL2546K. I feel like there must be something else going on here that is causing a lot of input lag or something. I mean, if its such a dramatic difference in aim, why would anyone buy a 240hz monitor then. Or even bother paying $500 for XL2546K for dyac+.

Obviously I cant confirm or know exactly what youre experiencing but, I do play fps games and I wouldnt want "noticeable" and obvious high input lag problems. I just feel like if there was an issue with input lag on these popular 240hz monitors, people would be talking about it. Incorrectly configured settings or something must be going on here. Are your FPS close to the refresh rate of 240hz while youre playing or? If this were actually a serious issue, I would definitely rather go buy the Viewsonic XG240R, XG2402 or similar.

I am in the market for a new monitor so thats kinda why I am concerned. I was going for the XL2546K for the dyac+ goodness or the Asus 9QM/8QM(maybe), and now I am waiting for the new Viewsonic 240hz ips to come out in 3 weeks or so.

its a great monitor for PUBG and MW cause u have a big advantage in spotting enemy's. way better then on the XG2402. its like a man with bad eye sight wearing glasses for the first time. For those games I choose the XL2546K over the XG2402 easily. Just not with Quake Live. its a interface issue there with mouse input. its not a visual thing.

The Xl2546k looks slower than the XL2540 (year 2016)
Both in the RTINGS test setup (AMA and Dyac disabled), as well as "High AMA enabled and Dyac disabled" do not make the XL2546K as fast as Xl2540 with "High AMA". This happens in the Overwatch game (and I’ve only played that). I also tried Bijan Jamshidi's recommendation (AMA disabled - Dyac Premium or High enabled). In the first few minutes it looks good, but then the response time increases and I'm at a disadvantage. A lot of lost money ...

What do you mean by it looks slower?
is there mouse lag or something?

I'm not sure to understand you (sorry) but what about 240hz with arround 300 fps and dyac+ on?

Plus, on overwatch i have arround 330 fps [290,340] arround 300 on teamfights, so xl2546k or PG259PN for that? I can buy the pg259pn too for 350€ and compare these two monitors (xl2546 is coming soon ^^) but I really think this dyac+ is great
Hello! I finally got the xl2546k and the PG259QN. I received the xl2546k first : this monitor is very good, Dyac+ is very effective (I'm very sensitive to blur and this technology works very well!)... Then I tested the PG259QN and certainly it's a little bit more blurry without dyac technology (But the difference in visibility is difficult to discern... ) BUT the responsiveness (I mean input lag) is lower on PG259QN and I can feel the difference with the xl2546k dyac+ on (difference is small tho but still noticeable on overwatch for exemple). I thought the difference in input lag would be negligible and I was more excited for the xl2546k but today I can say that I prefer the PG259qn because I feel it more responsive (feels like input lag is more important than the little blur improvement) and i'm going to return the 2546k.

Edit : About the mouse, In game it's ok but I had to up the sensitivity... In overwatch menu the mouse is not smooth that's a little bit weird but hopefully in game it's okay.

(sorry for my basic english)
