- When not using G-Sync all overdrive modes seem off. There so much blur its quite annoying.
I was checking 360Hz reviews on RTINGS and I thought this was the only decent 360Hz due to the low response time values and no overshoot.
Their review doesn't mention the response time test was done with VRR running, meaning without it the response time is much higher.
So, for someone that wants to disable VRR or plays above 360fps this is a no go.
But playing below 360fps with VRR this seems a very good monitor.

The AW2521HF 240Hz review has values for VRR 'off' and 'on'.

It seems VRR needs to be running to achieve low response times on some monitors according to the reviews I saw.

HWinfo and CRU says that my vertical frequency is "1-255hz".

Can anyone else check if they get similar results?

According to the manual, the vertical frequency should be 1-360hz?
I am using the display port cable that came with the monitor, I have RTX 3070 with latest 530.02 drivers.

So something wrong with my monitor timings? Anyone here that could help possibly?

Short answer:
This is just displaying only the outdated plug-and-play data. Don't worry about it.

Long answer:
This is from a very old EDID specification, since the original EDID spec had a 255Hz cap.

Use software (such as ToastyX CRU) at www.monitortests.com that supports the extensions blocks inside the newer CEA-861 extensions (DisplayID extensions to EDID) to plug-and-play display metadata.

Don't worry about it. The "1-255" stuff is usually from outdated monitor-analyzer software that didn't look at data inside plug-and-play protocol extensions.

I can't comment on your issue but did just recently receive a replacement AW2521H. Everything seems newer except the NV FW number, but I assume this is some weird naming scheme and it's newer too. I've no idea though!

Hopefully this fixes the g-sync module crashing once every few weeks, and black screens during PS5 VRR use over HDMI.

hello everyone, just to ask justnvc, what do you mean when you say that the gsync module is blocked? Greetings.

Hi! I have a pretty weird issue. I've been using the monitor with HDR enabled, GSync OFF and everything was fine. Today i tried playing CS GO using stretched resolution. After alt-tabbing, everything looks over sharpened and the colors are extremely bright to the point that i cannot even read text. I've tried factory resetting the monitor, and even did a clean windows reinstall. The problem still persists. Has anyone encountered something like this?

Okay so something weird just happen.

We all know that AW2521H doesn't support freesync, and I've tried to make it work when I first bought it, to no success...

Fast forward to now, and suddenly... IT WORKS??!!
I dunno what happened. Some people claimed that the only possible way that this monitor could support freesync is by firmware update, but I have absolutely NEVER done it with this monitor.
It just suddenly worked one day. I turned off the freesync in driver settings then it stopped. I turned it back on and it worked again.
It's even behaving the same way I would expect freesync would. Meaning the freesync ONLY works on fullscreen and borderless mode, not windowed mode.

For reference, I'm using Win 10 Pro, RX 6900XT, R7 3700x and driver version 23.10.2. Maybe the GPU driver update did something?
Not sure if it's a pro or a con but I just found it interesting that it just suddenly works without me doing anything.

On my AW2521H VRR has always worked. I only had to expand the range from default 255 to 360 Hz in CRU. But yeah, Rtings in their review also said freesync doesn't work on AMD. Idk why is this.

Can you please explain how you did this in CRU?
Thank you for your time can't figure out why I receive so much tearing with this monitor
