I want to buy DELL Alienware AW2521H 360Hz G-sync monitor.

What is the maximum number of hertz supported by g sync mode? Some sources claim that the maximum frequency of g sync is 240Hz. What about fps range 240 - 360 ? In this fps interval, the g sync mode does not work?
According to nvidia, the range is 1Hz to 360Hz:

Thanks for answer ! I saw this table. Does it means that column "Variable Refresh Rate Range" means that in all range will work g sync mode ? Or just this column show general range refresh rate of monitor ? ) is there a difference here? )
Are there any restrictions for g sync mode other than the maximum refresh rate of monitor ?

I know that ULMB mode supported max 240 hz in this monitor for example.

Thanks for help !

I bought this monitor but gsync does not work over HDMI despite reviews and the manual saying it should work. I'm using a 1050 ti with the latest drivers. Has anyone else gotten gsync to work over HDMI? I've tried both HDMI ports but that didn't help.

They work via connection over HDMI to a desktop or laptop with an Nvidia RTX or GTX 16-series graphics card. You also need to follow the instruction for downloading the proper firmware. Nvidia said it's working on getting more TVs that work with G-Sync Compatibility over HDMI in the future.

It means the g-sync range is 1FPS up to 360FPS when you run the monitor in 360Hz mode. (Well, with the usual VRR blurb that it's not really 360FPS, but should be limited with an FPS cap to about 4 FPS lower.)

In general what this means is simply that you can always use the highest Hz mode of the monitor with g-sync (which is recommended anyway for lowest input lag.)

Hello guys,

I need your help guys I have an AW2521H and the OSD showing "current" and "max" refresh rate is bugging me, the current refresh rate never changes despite all my efforts to make it work. Does this monitor shows IN REAL TIME what refresh rate is used when Gsync is enabled? The Dell support is totally clueless and i am still discussing with them but they refuser to answer this simple question.

btw I have tearing with Gsync and Vsync on even with every options checked on nvcp and the OSD indicates Gsync is active.

Tanks a lot for anyone who has the answer.

Basically I have the same problem: https://www.dell.com/community/Alienwar ... -p/8021424

I got the same problem:

Hi guys ,

My aw2521h always show 360hz in current hz even if gsync Is on , in monitor > others > display info .
With others dell monitor current hz vary during games matching 1:1 fps of the videocard.
Is a common issue of monitor firmware ? ...or A gsync problem ?
Can you try run a game with gsync on and see if current and maximum hz under display info of aw2521h always show 360hz ?
Thanks

I haven't run into this issue.
With G-Sync on the displayed Hz were always identical to the current FPS, as long as FPS were in G-Sync range.

Are you sure it's displaying the wrong Hz and G-Sync is actually working properly? Or could it be that G-Sync simply isn't working?
Try reinstalling GPU drivers and a different DP cable.
Hello, do you have this exact monitor model? AW2521H?

hello, I bought a Dell Alienware AW2521H, this is my first alienware monitor and when connected to the network it makes noise similar to the noise of the cooling system. is that how it should be? Such noise is constantly regardless of whether it is connected to the PC or not

Inverse Pixel Artifact at 60-120hz??

Post by coballes19 » 04 Apr 2022, 12:35

Anyone encountering some pixel inversion artifact on this monitor on lower refresh rate?
It's kinda hard to get a screenshot or video of since I don't have any good equipment here.

When using 60hz-120hz on this monitor, there's these subtle vertical lines (that looks like vertical scanlines) that appear, particularly when in motion? Depending on the game or content I'm viewing, it can range from noticable to just downright unbearable.
The lower the refresh rate gets, the more noticable it gets as well. These scanline-like artifacts are also more prominent on the lower half of the monitor than the upper half.

This is a problem seems when using gsync, 60-120fps are the most common range of fps that I get. Not to mention I also play fighting game, which are all universally locked to 60fps

I've been playing some games with this monitor now and yeah... I can definitely feel those artifacts creeping up.
Doom 2016 was particularly bad. Like, MY GOD! It's horrendious! This was pretty disappointing.

This pretty much kills my enthusiasm for gsync as the "ultimate savior" against tearing and input lag. I know this really isn't gsync's fault per se but the panel itself, but since turning on gsync will force me to deal with this artifacts, it's all part of the "gsync experience".Like it wasn't enough that I had to go through hoops to make sure gsync works properly in all the games I have and in all situation that I need it to work on, now I have to deal with this?

Man. Good thing this was a 360hz monitor cause then I could just fallback to setting this to fixed 360hz, completely turn off gsync, turn on vsync and letting the sheer unadulterated amount of refresh rate counter all the weaknesses of pure 'vsync on'.
