I am in the same boat as you space, I was going to buy one today but last night I read some guy on reddit said he exchanged 3 of them issues with burn-in and lines running down the panel. I would love to know how true this is maybe cable or running 10 bit or screens are trash not sure if I want to be another beta tester did enough of that with all the AMD agesa.. There isn't much talk about the monitors which truly sucks, seems like people would rather use 1080pppppp But I might just bite the bullet and pick 1 up... not sure if microcenter does that warranty stuff like they do for cpu's. I will report back if/when i get it

One doubt about factory overclocked monitors. Taking in mind than very probably panel manufacturer not accept defective panels if are overclocked beyond 240Hz. If a player buy this XB273U GX, play at 270Hz without issues, but months later artifacts appear. Set 240Hz no issues. Acer 240@270 and Asus 240@280 RMA, cover a replacement ? If not, 270/280Hz is lottery.

So how are you liking your monitor? Are you having any problems with it? I'm thinking of buying it.

"This panel is really good on paper and ticked everything off that I wanted on a monitor but has a massive flaw in that the panel suffers image retention. I bought this panel last week due to a lot of recommendations from users and Bijan's video (even cancelled my Alienware AW2721D order for it). Unfortunately, I ordered it before a lot of people started reporting the image retention error and my monitor was already on the way. I received it yesterday and played with it and was fine until late at night after some warzone games. I opened a chrome tab and saw vertical artifacts and then image retention of the google logo on my desktop wallpaper. This would continue happening in whatever mode I used (sRGB, OC off, overdrive normal, extreme, gsync on or off, and bunch of other settings). From reading around, many users have had the same issues on their panels (on this and the nitro variant) and had to return it. Lost money on shipping so that sucked and their location for their returns is in Texas which costed me more than I wanted out of pocket for return. I have owned many acer monitors in the past (x34, their first 240hz tn etc) and this is the first to let me down. $700 dollars is a lot of money to drop for a product that I believe is not satisfactory so just be aware that image retention does happen on quite a lot of these panels and it seems whether if you buy it on acer's website or at microcenter a decent amount of these panel seems to be bad (for the predator and nitro versions). Whether or not this goes away later I am unsure, but most people I have talked to have opted to return it and so have I. My panel was manufactured in September of 2020 for reference"

Above was what I posted on reddit, just wanted to let people here know as well.

Maybe retention issue is only in the first lot of panels, lets see spacerocktraveler manufacture date and feedback.

Anyway, even if is only the first lot, is not excuse to sell defective units. Because would mean than quality test of panel manufacturer and monitor manufacturer not detect the issue, or even worst, detect it but sell it anyway, trying recover some money of engineering failure, at cost of customers money and time loss.

https://pcmonitors.info/acer/acer-xb273 ... ips-model/
The monitor features a 27″ 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) IPS-type panel; the AU Optronics M270DAN08.0 AHVA (Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle) panel more specifically.
I placed it in quarantine until more info. Lets see if others monitors based in this panel also have retention. Thx for report.

LG Nano-IPS QHD 240Hz is the competence, Eve monitor use this panel, but include KSF phosphor layer, causing red trail, bad for good quality strobing. Lets hope LG also make one version without KSF, less color gamut but no red trail, even better if Eve monitor is released directly with this non-KSF panel. While waiting if this occurs, i had hopes than this new AUO QHD 240Hz IPS would be the solution if LG not do it.

Lets hope so, I really wanted this monitor to be good as it made the cut for all of my other preference (240hz, nano-ips like colors, ulmb, and 1440p)

If you bought this panel from acer and want to return before the 14 day period for any reason you will have to pay return shipping out of pocket. Also, the cost of shipping if you paid for it at checkout will not be refunded I believe.
I heard the predator hotline that comes with the acer monitor will help try to fix your issue and will replace the panel in the chance they cannot fix it via phone. In my case, didn't want to wait for turnaround and shipping and reshipping just to possibly get another panel with the same issue. I opted for the refund like many other previous owners I talked to (one person had all 3 of his different panels have the issue, from microcenter). The return shipping net loss sucked for me but I would rather not have to deal with a product I believe is defective for such a big price.

Here are some photos of the retention issue if anyone was interested on what it looked like. (desktop bg was set to light gray to see image retention more clearly)

I chatted with Best Buy this morning and they had no information on it. After going through 2 people they recommended I call the corporate office which would likely get me nowhere since the corporate page says to go where I just left :)

considering the 3 hour round trip to micro center but would be crushed if I got home and had a bad panel
