Hp omen x25/25f thoughts?

Right now I'm using the xg270 and mainly play FPS games like Apex and OW, I dont use strobe and for some reason im not happy qith XG270, fps just dont feel smooth to me like my old tn144hz
So I was thinking about trying a 240hz tn panel and see if I like it. I'm asking about the hp because of few major reasons:
1. I have a nice discount in a local store
2. I can test it and return if i ended up being not happy with that.
So my question is.. is it even worth the trouble? Will I even see better results in games like APEX/OW With a 240hz tn panel compared to my xg270?
Also. The price difference for me between the x 25 and x25f is minimal. So i guess x 25 is the better choice? Heard something about monitors with gaync built in might result in better results because they are tweaked more?

I've tested HP Omen X 25f and I wasn't really impressed much with this display. My unit of X 25f suffered from significant pixel inversion artifacts (this issue appears to be quite common in TN panels). Also, X 25f's motion clarity in-game looked actually worse to me than on ASUS VG259QM (280 Hz IPS), which I also tested and it's what I currently use. The Omen has no swivel adjustment as well, I didn't really like the overall design. The difference between X 25 and X 25f is that the first one has G-SYNC module (hardware solution), whilst the other one is only G-SYNC Compatible (driver solution). The hardware solution is usually better thanks to its adaptive overdrive implementation.
If you want a good TN monitor, I recommend BenQ Zowie XL2540K/XL2546K. I tested Zowie XL2546K and it's by far the best TN monitor I've used, it's also free from pronounced pixel inversion artifacts issue. XL2540K is basically the same monitor as XL2546K, but with no DyAc+ (Zowie's strobing tech) and no extras like shields or S-Switch, and it's much cheaper thanks to that. RTINGS measured 1.7 ms GtG average response time for this panel (Fast Liquid Crystal TN).
When it comes to the panel type, a good TN monitor might look and feel better for you, if you're not satisfied with your 240 Hz IPS. XG270 has a not-so-good response time with 5.5 ms GtG average on optimal overdrive setting, according to RTINGS measurements. Just to compare, 280 Hz fastIPS panel from ASUS is capable of 2.5-3.7 ms GtG average response time on optimal overdrive setting (or even 1.9 ms if you accept some overshoot on higher overdrive), so you might also want to test VG259QM/VG279QM instead of the TNs mentioned above.

I heard that the X 25 (the one with the G-sync Module) had better results for people probably because the better overdrive implementation.
Could it be that you just got unlucky with your x25f? honestly cant even find user reviews of it anywhere online
But the reason I wanted the HP in the first place(besides hearing good things on it) is mostly because I can get a big discount on it + the option to actually test it for a day and return it for a refund if I regret . Cant do that if i buy the ASUS for example..
Regarding the XL2546K it's available in my country but beind sold so expansive almost double price of the OMEN X 25
I just wanted a monitor with better motion clarity and respone times compared to my XG270 (Which I'm not happy with)
For the asus one I wont be able to return it but its available for higher price (but reasonable) compared to the HP,did you tried the 120 OD tweak? also being an IPS maybe I should go back to TN's if I mostly play FPS games
Regarding Dyac. not sure if it's actually good to have on games like Apex,some people say its amazing and some says its not even turned ON for them when they play competetive

The first thing I noticed when I switched from the Omen X 25f to the VG279QM was the PPI (Pixels per inch). The Asus is 82 vs the OMen @ 91. The higher the cleaner text and images can appear. To me it was immediately noticeable. The motion clarity on the Asus is smoother due to the 280Hz and the input lag is about .9ms lower. That's also noticeable. The build quality on the Omen seems much nicer IMO.
I was considering one of the 360Hz monitors but it's currently too expensive right now, plus I'm getting use to a 27" monitor.

Why don't you use strobe? Based on the specs the hp looked great but bad pixel inversion. NO WAY. You said you could try it and return it. If I had that opportunity why not? Of course I would. Maybe your old tn looked smoother because it had worse pixel response. Motion blur does make stuff look smoother. It's almost as if they're is an interpolated frame in between.

I have the 25f. I use OD at 240Hz and it is good enough. If you want a freesync range of 50-170hz you'll want to turn it down to 2. The standard stand is more than enough. Cable management height adjust and tilt adjust.
Who uses swivel on an esports tn monitor. Sit straight in front if it.
Unless you're making money off of esports I'd not advise it and rather go for a picture quality-responsiveness middleground.
