Will it cause any instability issues if the modified Hz isn’t divisible by the original Hz?
Generally, that won't be a problem as long as the Pixel Clock is exactly the same, and Horizontal Scan Rate (horizontal refresh rate) is exactly the same.

Large Vertical Totals just creates a bigger blanking interval to temporally space-apart the refresh cycles. Unchanged scanrate, lower refresh rate = bigger blanking interval.

Now that being said, there are some possible quirks with DisplayPort vs HDMI differences -- are you using DP or HDMI? Some of this behavior can be slightly different on one or the other.]

Regardless, make sure you uninstall all extended modes (reset-all.exe included with ToastyX) and start over again if you've got some instability problems.

Hi all, I currently have an AOC 24g2z and I noticed that it is using the exact same panel as the Viewsonic XG2431. https://imgur.com/a/LKhhHkl

Does this mean that my 24g2z's response time is similar to the xg2431? On RTINGS the xg2431 has some insane response time scores for an IPS panel and I am considering getting it but I'm not sure if I have the same performance right now. My current 24g2z has 4 levels of overdrive (off, weak, medium, strong) and they all have not much difference from each other. But for the viewsonic i saw that the ultra fast settings provides a lot more ghosting which can be mitigated by setting the color temperate to Native. Could this mean that the xg2431 has better overdrive settings than the 24g2z?

TLDR: is the response time between the xg2431 and 24g2z the same because they are using the same panel?

Thanks

That question needs to be in a separate thread. This thread is for the XG2431 only...

Also, the XG2431 provides 100 levels of overdrive settings via PureXP Custom when strobing is enabled, and GtG can become completely invisible at some refresh rates (QFT), completely hidden in the dark cycles between backlight strobes. As far as I understand it, the 24g2z does not provide a custom overdrive option.

I have found best settings for my monitor Image
I had read in blurbusters gsync 101 reserach that cap fps below refresh rate -3 reduces VSYNC lag.
That's why I set "VSYNC On" in nvidia control panel, I capped FPS 237 in the game and turned on triple buffering.
Is it correct?

I play Fortnite esport and low input lag and no screen tearing is my main goal. I tried RTSS Scanline Sync but it is piece of s***. Work worse than my current settings.

That cap-below is only for FreeSync/G-SYNC/VRR.

You need a different cap-below if you're using VSYNC ON, see Low Lag VSYNC HOWTO. This is not Scanline Sync, it's a different form of RTSS setting.

RTSS Scanline Sync is not recommended for Fortnite, it is a custom sync technology that has very game-specific benefits. Also, you must always use VSYNC OFF and remove cap for Scanline Sync, and make sure GPU is under 50% load, for it to perform amazing.

Damn, there we go! My viewsonic runs 240.0007 Hz, I've set Framerate limit to 239.990 in RTSS and the game feels more responsive. I have turned triple buffering off. Thanks for the link!

Hi All I have placed an order for the XG2431 on advice that it appears to be one of the best 24" 280hz monitors out there.

However I am a noob in regards to setting it up and ensuring the best performance.

Is there a step by step guide on what settings and tests to apply to ensure that I am getting the best performance?

I am planning to play CSGO mostly on it and have a beefy graphics card to feed it if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance

Hi all I just bought one of these as they are blur busters approved and appear to be one of the best value 24" 280hz monitors available.

Without trawling through the 120 pages on this thread, is there a set up guide or FAQ on how to apply the correct tests and settings to achieve the best performance for this monitor in regards to the strobing and refresh rates etc. I am a noob in this regard.

I am playing mostly CSGO and have a beefy graphics card feeding the monitor if that make any difference.

Has anyone compared the XG2431 with the XG2405? Is its factory calibration similar in terms of color and gamma? I'm not really interested in the strobing but I need a 24" 1080p 120+Hz monitor for use with an Xbox Series X. A lot of monitors have weird gamma curves that make dark scenes too dark, and this compounds onto the Xbox which has a similar issue of its own. I have a XG2405 which has no issues with gamma and a very pleasing color profile out of the box (no oversaturation etc.) but my unit is dying and the model is no longer sold in my market. The XG2431 is the closest thing available, but this comment in the rtings review doesn't fill me with confidence: "Also, gamma doesn't follow the sRGB curve well as dark scenes are too dark, and brighter scenes are over-brightened."

Hey guys I have this monitor but I have tried via HDMI and DP and I do not get the G-sync option in the NVIDIA control panel. Is there a setting that needs to be applie dto enable G Sync?
