Could you do a tutorial or guide when the XG2431 comes out on how to set up the monitor for different emulators? "combined with the new RetroArch 2:1 software BFI"

I wouldn't know how to set that up and what emulators that works on as from my understanding retroarch is just basically a front end type thing that uses other emulators like mgba for gba or beetle for ps1.

I'll do a small forum tutorial -- it's not difficult, just a single global setting. You just have to make sure your hardware refresh rate is 3x your emulator refresh rate.

Retroarch, as a front end, is also the "display emulation" front end for the multiple emulators. What this means is that any display settings in RetroArch will affect all emulators globally (at least if they're running refresh rates compatible with your destination display, i.e. a multiple)

v2 BFI is great on my 240hz ips completely eliminates all the inversion artifacts and the flicker seems abit softer then normal backlight strobing. it's not perfect motion clarity but good enough for 224p upscaled retrogames.

I'm not sure if the latest stable release of retroarch has it yet, been using the nightly

All you have to do is create a 180hz custom refresh rate
set black frame insertion to "2"

if you do get a xg2431 you won't even need bfi you can just strobe at 60hz if you want.

Hello! I read the post and you now im interested in this new monitor.

I purchased the Viewsonic XG2405 this month but i feel dizzy when I play FPS games in this monitor. I still feeling it after some configuration changes so I think i need other monitor.

Two questions:

- Does the XG2431 24" has freesync or gsync?
- This new monitor has better response time than XG2405/less stutering?

Sorry if my questions are not very accurate I'm new in this world of monitors.

Thanks

The XG2431 took a slight lead on RTINGS. Pretty good for an unreleased monitor.

I currently own an XL2411P and hope that this is a decent replacement for console play. The XL2411P's 60hz strobing is unmatched but the contrast and colors are atrocious.

Also, I should note that for console gamers, all 24.5” 240Hz IPS panels end to be 60Hz-laggier and 120Hz-laggier than 23.8” 240Hz IPS panels. But not everyone needs to play console games.
Sorry, but what does that mean? Input lag or something else?

is there any estimated release date (ideally something that is confirmed by viewsonic and not just a rumor) ? i am very interested in this monitor, but i cant find anything from viewsonic that says something about the release date. I used the xg270 for a few weeks and loved it, just 27" was to big for me :/
