Guys, can anyone with XG2431 confirm if this is a monitor issue or any way I can fix this problem? I am close to returning this monitor if there is no chance of fixing these color issues on high vibrance

I have seen the NVIDIA drivers inject this purple color on another monitor on high Digital Vibrance setting -- can you confirm first (with the exact same Digital Vibrance setting) with another display or monitor?

Even your TV will do as a test. Make sure you test the exact same Digital Vibrance setting with the exact game settings. Use the same setting, as it is tempting to use more Digital Vibrance setting to compensate for XG2431 not being a wide-gamut monitor. XG2431 is designed as a high performance monitor with better strobe quality.

You could switch to NanoIPS which has better colors, but will have worse strobing (pictures). Or quantum dots, but strobe options are very limited, and not as flexible as XG2431's strobe range (www.blurbusters.co/xg2431). Depending on your needs, there are pros/cons;

I own a really old model of Asus 60 hz monitor from 2013. No matter how much I change the settings in NVCP or the monitor itself, it never had this issue. Yes, i did try with the exact setting, never had these issues. The picture is really clean there.

I've been looking around to see if the XG2431 I have has a panel issue or if it's the same across each one of them. If possible could you do a small test for me if you have XG2431 - Turn up the digital vibrance in Nvidia control panel to 70 or 75 and increase the brightness to 55. Then go into any fullscreen game and look at the dark areas or shadows where the black is reflecting other colours like purple/green. I have tested it in COD and L4D2. L4D2 is highly noticeable where even in the main menu the black is reflecting squares of purple/green. If you could test it in L4D2, I'd get a much better idea.

Kindly confirm if it's the same across all XG2431 so I'll have an idea if I want a replacement or not

Proving it's possible to get crosstalk free 60hz strobing using QFT and LVT.

How's the color on this monitor for everyday use? (browsing + watching videos). I've seen the paper specs and it says this monitor supports 6bit + FRC meanwhile RTings says this monitor accepts 10bit signal, i'm wondering how it would perform compared to native 8bit (like is there any color banding?) when viewing 8bit content. TIA.

I had this for a while and didn't notice any banding (and I'm using an nvidia card, so no baked in dithering).

To my untrained eye the colours were brilliant and there was a good margin of shadow compensation which could be enabled before the colours started to look "wrong", so it should do well in modern movies and tv shows, which tend to be too dark in general.

To be clear, I didn't use the soak-with-wet towels method on the XG2431. I wouldn't want anyone to assume I did, try it, and damage their awesome monitor. In my experience, IPS panels for some reason often have issues with that method. It seems they tend to use a different adhesive or the actual makeup of the polarizer is different. I've actually only tried a few IPS panels, so the sample size is small, but that's my impression. You frequently end up with lines or striations in the surface of the polarizer or you can't seem to get the matte film to come up off the polarizer at all.

Anyway, this newer method involves more effort but it has several advantages. First, it seems to work on any kind of LCD screen. Second, it avoids the issues I previously mentioned. Third, since you are actually just polishing the matte film your screen maintains that layer of protection, making it more durable and resistant to scratches. On the other hand, when you remove the matte film completely the rear side of the polarizer is glossy, which is why it looks good, but the problem is that it's very thin and prone to getting scratches. Finally, this method also opens up the possibility to give it just the degree of glossiness that you desire. Semi-glossy is an option with this method. You can customize it to suit your particular preference in screen finish.

If people are interested I can share more details about how to carry out this method. I've been meaning to share it with the community for a while now.

Hey there, just wanted to see if you still are active on this forum by chance, and could tell the process you did to make your XG2431 glossy? Or what polish/process you used?

Hi
I can't create a qft 60hz mode from 240hz, it simply works if I create a qft 120hz mode from 240hz, I always have a black screen when I try with 60hz!
THANKS

This has come up so often on this thread but I understand it's been a long time. I set my LVT to 4499. Below 4500 prevents the black screen.

Guys, which mode did you like best for competitive games such as CS?
1)Vsync off +purexp
2)QFTmode 180hz+purexp,
it’s actually difficult to figure out, I can’t select any settings for myself due to the language barrier and unoptimized CS2 (and I can’t understand how to correctly lock rtss scaling sync in QFT MODE 180fps +Purexp, maybe need Vsync off +Freesync will give the best visual result of a smooth picture, without tearing? Anyone with experience, please share your solutions! Glad I found this highly focused forum.
