Just got my ViewSonic XG2431 in the mail and my first impressions are that it is outstanding! This is a revolutionary step in consumer displays since CRTs with overall motion performance exceeding just about any other gaming monitor. We must thank Blur Busters and ViewSonic for taking part in such a huge milestone.

The MPRT is much lower than expected at solid brightness so even at 60hz blur is rarely detectable. Probably even beats average CRT MPRT and brightness at around 90hz+ or something.

Crosstalk is basically non-existent all the way up to 120hz with QFT. 240hz crosstalk looks surprisingly decent and far better than 240hz sample-and-hold which is certainly a game-changer for eSports.

QFT is relatively simple to set up and everyone should really learn how to do it as the panel has somewhat distracting crosstalk without it. Still 100x better than no strobing at all even without QFT though.

My panel had no dead pixels and black uniformity is almost perfect which I was very surprised by. The picture quality is great as well.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this display nearly brought a tear to my eye. Only remaining major disadvantage to CRT is the IPS elevated black levels. But because OLED strobing is far too dim and micro-LED is still years away, something like this will probably be the best performing gaming display one can get for the foreseeable future. It truly beats CRTs and 99.9% of LCDs when it comes to gaming.

I hope we can see this level of motion performance in 1440p and 4k displays soon as well!

Hi Chief and everyone.

I took a video of my custom Strobe Utility result. Please note that there are many limitations within my settings, so if this doesn't have the best result take it with a grain of salt. The blurriness in the picture comes from the camera, not the monitor.

What settings are you guys are using? So far, I'm happy with brightness 25, black stabilization 60 and Ultra Fast for Response Time. For PureXP Extreme seems the best for me. Sharp, good colors, input lag seems really low and most importantly I play well with it, it's definitely a keeper. My unit has some BLB in the bottom right corner but not too bad. OSD buttons are similar to the xg2402, but they are worse because the buttons are smaller and don't come out as much, and I'm constantly miss clicking, but once you get your settings in it's not a big deal overall really happy with this monitor.

Further impressions... I'm still loving this monitor. I can safely say that it is the best monitor I've ever owned. The motion quality is exceptional and very customizable. As others have reported, 60Hz up through about 120Hz is perceptually crosstalk free while using large vertical totals. Which is amazing. CRT motion-clarity without noticeable artifacts is finally here!

My panel has no dead pixels and extremely good uniformity . The only exception is the black uniformity, due to some mild backlight bleed. It has improved somewhat, though, in the few days I've been using it.

I like that when you create a custom profile using BlurBusters Strobe Utility the monitor stores it, which allows you to use it for console games or anything else you want to use it for.

One thing I don't like is how the black level enhancement works. Each step is too large and seems to affect brighter shades as well, instead of just adjusting the darkest parts of the image (such as how the BenQ XL2411 handles it.)

Luckily the overall image quality is really good. Colors look rich and more accurate than they did on my past three monitors. Whites are pure and don't suffer from undesirable shifts or tints of other colors. The gamma curve seems quite accurate as well.

Variable refresh rate comes in the form of FreeSync Premium but I tested it with my Nvidia RTX 2070 Super and it worked properly in the games I played.

The combination of the performance and features of this monitor makes it the best and most well-rounded I've ever used.

I am expecting this monitor tomorrow super excited especially seeing everyone’s feedback on it here. Mainly, I play on PlayStation 5 both games at 60Hz and 120Hz (Apex Legend & Warzone) was wondering if anyone could suggest settings regarding both these games (predominantly Apex Legends).
Thanks in advance!

Are there Pursuit pictures of this 60hz mode?
and how about the 120hz mode? How does it compare to the XG270.. with high Vertical Totals?

Why arent there any comprehensive reviews or pursuit photos out yet?
XG2431 was so tight in shipping quantities until recently, and ViewSonic held back review units. I will ask if they’re finally shipping review units. It’s their decision. These monitors use special chips (higher end scaler/TCON chips which are sometimes custom-fabbed) and chips are in severe shortages lately.

The same shortages affecting everything have been severely affecting these new upgraded 23.8” 240Hz IPS gaming monitor panels with apparently better quality than 25” IPS gaming monitor panels.

Are you please able to take/share some pursuit photos yourself, Chief?
I might, as a Special Blur Busters Approved edition, after shipping quantities become sufficient.

Also — Blur Busters isn’t a monitor reviewer (except for Special Editions such as GSYNC 101). We don’t want to compete against the users of Blur Busters testing inventions used by dozens of reviewers. See www.blurbusters.com/inventions

Strobe Utility tuned QFT modes on XG2431 significantly outperforms XG270 in strobing (which doesn’t support Strobe Utility), even 240Hz strobing is significantly better too.
I understand, but you see my x3 XL2720z setup is quite good for 120hz with AMA LOW, so It would be an expensive move for me to switch to an XG270 or an XG2431.. so seeing those Pursuit photos of the range of single strobe modes with optimized Vertical Totals.. is what I and many others here would need to see before making a purchase. I totally understand you aren't a monitor reviewer and don't wish to compete, but surely a fair comparison at 60/120/240 between the XG2431/XG270/XL2720 seems intriguing, no? (great monitors from different eras, 2014 early MBR, 2019 Blur Busters Certifed 1.0, and 2021 Blur Busters Certified 2.0) .. but i also hope that these review samples are getting out to their reviewers. like aperturegrille/ashun/a5hun.. I believe he is also a user on this forum?

Guys better be quick, Amazon US has some in stock! Not a third party seller, just ordered one. Was checking all day randomly, they had total of 4, still 3 left.

//Edit

All gone, took less than 1 hour.
Yeah i saw those was about to buy 1 to see if it was worth it so i could take some Pursuit photos myself..., It's an expensive purchase for me, so proper review/pursuit photos will literally drive my purchasing decision. but i haven't seen a review yet to compare it with the XG270 or my 3x XL2720z setup.. :( Edit: they restocked? see below...

So it's absolutely confirmed now that this monitor won't come to Europe? In that case I'll just buy a Mobiuz EX2510s(30% off now) as a stopgap unless there are other monitor suggestion for high quality 100-120hz strobing.

viewsonic_corporation on ebay is also selling it.
eBay links are allowed on Blur Busters forums, since they are automatically affiliate links.

XG2431 on Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B097S9SYM5?tag=blurbust-20
XG2431 on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/393697040988
Viewsonic on eBay has monitors, I've made order on 16th november, next day they were shipping it already.
