If this has faster GTG response times than the XG270 (to a degree that it can be naked-eye observed) AND 60hz strobing, it's looking to be a pretty exciting piece of technology.

Only way this feature set could get any better is if it becomes available in a 27"/1440p variation - but that would also be dependent on GPUs being more widely available than they are now. I don't think my GTX 1080 could push 240fps at that resolution lmao

PS5 height is 39cm, and 27" screen height is ~33,6cm, 24" is ~29,6cm.
Not sure but to me it looks like a 27".

Will this monitor have variable overdrive for VRR? A large performance factor that separates monitors with a native gsync module vs ones that are just gsync compatible is that the gsync module adjusts pixel overdrive on the fly to be appropriate for whatever framerate it's matching to - whereas "compatible" and freesync screens usually have a fixed overdrive that can be optimized for high refresh or low refresh, but not both.

Because its supposed to have maybe the best/lowest response time and input lag for game consoles at 60hz-120hz.

Because if you're a competitive FPS gamer, 1080p@120hz on a small screen is the best way to play on XSX/PS5.

I'll leave that as a ViewSonic tease -- it's their ball to announce the shipment.

My commentary is that it appearance very very close -- to the point I'm not 100% sure. Though enterprising reader using PS5 seems to have answered the question, the PS5 is farther back and monitor is closer to camera. There's typically small differences between a DVT unit, EVT unit, pre-PVT unit (terminology for prototypes), and production unit. My unit here is prototype unit, which may slightly deviate in style to the production -- that often happens. So who knows? It's Marketing Department's tease, and I'm awaiting my *production* unit to arrive on my desk too. :D

(Tentatively beginning of June, parts-shortage depending. And I stress the word "tentative". The whole industry is turned upsidedown by parts shortages including ViewSonic. Obviously, this is not the first estimated date, and even ViewSonic Support has offered multiple delayed dates to people who ask them directly.)

The XG2431 is indeed one of the lowest lag 24" screens I've seen on my desk for modern console players, so there is ample opportunities to target this to PC and console gamers wanting an all-in-one monitor.

Reviewers will have to test it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the (the, or one of the) world's lowest lag "60Hz & 120Hz modes on a 240Hz IPS panel".

Seriously, Chief, this monitor cannot come soon enough. It seems like everything now is a super long wait of slow suffering. Maybe too much of buying thermal pads and stuff from Aliexpress and having to wait a month for the slow shipping has just made me an ultra negative person or something. Now I know how the people who still don't have somewhat recent video cards feel now...
