Is it capable of strobing refresh under ~59Hz as well? There's a lot of retro games that run at weird refreshes like 55Hz or 57Hz, like Dodonpachi or other arcade games, many playable through a Mister or emulation. Systems like the x68000 also ran at those refresh rates.

Then you have 50Hz too of course for systems like Amiga, but personally speaking 50Hz strobe isn't too pleasant to look and I prefer to sacrifice the motion clarity a bit with strobed 100Hz, just dealing with the motion judder.

Regardless, would be really nice to see this kind of content supported in the future, as far as I understand it, the tech is there.

Congrats on how far this has gotten though!

That said, do you have any idea how much better these innolux panels are (combined with your utility), in terms of actual added milliseconds with strobing On vs. Off?
The latency pretty much follows the mathematics more-or-less, as a delta between the sequential scanout (of LCD panel) versus the global panel flash (of the backlight). Average latency of non-QFT modes would be the halftime of max-Hz scanout.

Please vote at RTINGS suggest-a-monitor for the XG2431 to be reviewed.
It doesn't have a chance at this point with only 59 votes, it will take months and months to have a review... maybe :/

In meantime I'll stick with the LG GN24600 and take a look at the EX2510S hoping it will get a lower price.

Feels like this will never come out to regular retailers

The lowest refresh rate of the XG2431 strobe is 59 Hz.

One workaround is to intentionally speed up the emulation slightly if you want to get a 57 Hz game to 59-60Hz to single-strobe.

Thanks for the compliment!

Actually good chances - eventually. They usually buy up most of the top 10. Many manufacturers game the upvotes in various ways. So the top 5 are unusually abberant, but XG2431 is far ahead of well over a hundred others (scroll down and you see many models with very few votes)

The only thing Blur Busters does is to post a link to the monitor so the fans can upvote the monitor. Even so, RTINGS sometimes subtracts those white-hat votes accidentally when trying to remove the black-hat votes (single people voting multiple times through different emails and IP addresses).

So far this is the best monitor ive used so far. Im not even using the backlight strobing just freesync was enough with the combination of stable frametime and the out of the box response time was superb for an IPS monitor its super worth it

Something funky is going on over there.

For example Samsung C24RG50 (2019 VA 1080p 144hz monitor) came out of nowhere to top place with 670 votes in less than two weeks. It had 350 only 9 days ago. Now when it caught up to Eve Spectrum ES07D03, votes stopped counting. I mean why not 1000 votes if its such an important panel. Why in da world would so many people be interested in such monitor is what I was wondering? There is definitely nothing special about it.

I contacted RTINGS to check for vote validity and they answered:
RTINGS wrote: Thanks for bringing this to our attention. As far as I know, there's no issues with it so far. While it may be a bit surprising, we've seen interest in older models for different product categories before, so that's probably what's happening here. We'll continue to keep a close eye on the situation though, and I'll be sure to let you know if we come across anything concerning!

If I like dyac, should I take 2431 or 2546 k? Now I have 2546. What about the input lag at 2431?

Asked ViewSonic if they have any info about selling this monitor in Europe:

"Sorry to say, but the XG2431 will not be released in Europe, as of current plans. Suggest to move up to a 27”, for XG270 with 240Hz like the XG271QG with G-Sync Elite: https://www.viewsonic.com/global/products/lcd/XG270

Or XG270QC, 165Hz curved: https://www.viewsonic.com/global/products/lcd/XG270QC

Within a few months we will launch a new 25” (24,5”) in XG251G, with 360Hz refresh rate! (price not finalized): https://www.viewsonic.com/global/newsro ... ology_3615"

That's so unfortunate. :(
I really wanted to go for a blurbusters approved monitor...guess I'll wait for some blurbusters approved 4k 240hz monitor now :/

Also, if Chief sees this, is it possible to add the AOC 24G2ZU (uses the same panel as XG2431) to your strobing utility so we can adjust strobing on it? Since EU won't be getting the XG2431, it seems it's the only monitor with the same panel that's available in EU (if VCP codes are available on it ofc)
