Can we at least confirm this is the xg2431 viewsonic tweeted recently? :)
I'll leave that as a ViewSonic tease -- it's their ball to announce the shipment.

My commentary is that it appearance very very close -- to the point I'm not 100% sure. Though enterprising reader using PS5 seems to have answered the question, the PS5 is farther back and monitor is closer to camera. There's typically small differences between a DVT unit, EVT unit, pre-PVT unit (terminology for prototypes), and production unit. My unit here is prototype unit, which may slightly deviate in style to the production -- that often happens. So who knows? It's Marketing Department's tease, and I'm awaiting my *production* unit to arrive on my desk too. :D

(Tentatively beginning of June, parts-shortage depending. And I stress the word "tentative". The whole industry is turned upsidedown by parts shortages including ViewSonic. Obviously, this is not the first estimated date, and even ViewSonic Support has offered multiple delayed dates to people who ask them directly.)

i doubt it, looks bigger then 24" and why would you advertise the xg2431 with an ps5 ?
Because its supposed to have maybe the best/lowest response time and input lag for game consoles at 60hz-120hz.
The XG2431 is indeed one of the lowest lag 24" screens I've seen on my desk for modern console players, so there is ample opportunities to target this to PC and console gamers wanting an all-in-one monitor.

Reviewers will have to test it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the (the, or one of the) world's lowest lag "60Hz & 120Hz modes on a 240Hz IPS panel".
Keeping the details out as much as possible, are we far from a potential 360Hz+ blurbusters approved monitor?

The XG2431 is most likely going to be awesome and I'll probably pick one up, but it's refresh rate is still ever so slightly too low to punch through certain barriers to game feel. (I.E 4.1ms VRR vs 2.7ms) it ends up making enough of a difference where VRR is just magic.

It's hard to beat raw refresh rate sometimes, but motion clarity is a good temptation :)

A very-high refresh rate blurbusters approved monitor? Now that's where I'd like to put my money day 1.

Due to NDAs, I can’t reveal anything about unannounced monitors. Just that Blur Busters contracts extends up to 24 months out for some models — some are still only on the drawing board. So don’t wait.

Just thought I'd prod again and see if you're willing to say whether or not this monitor will have a variable overdrive feature. It's crucial for a good VRR experience

nah Roadsign1993, I've been checking back and we haven't gotten any news in a bit. Electronics shortages etc what can we really expect, ah well. I'm right there with you though.

I’d also like to chime and say that, as someone looking for capped VRR strobing, I’m hoping the XG2431 is able to offer that. Chief, are you able to comment on this perhaps? Thanks in advance :)

Perhaps this would be a good feature for version 3.0 of the certification, then.

I do recognize dynamic overdrive does slightly improve the motion resolution of VRR (to more closely follow Blur Busters Law, becoming more unimpeded by ghosting/coronas), and this is indeed available as a value-add consulting service if any manufacturer wants to hire our services to improve VRR overdrive. However, it is not planned to be a bullet within the Blur Busters certification, because BlurBusters -- of BlurBusters name sake -- is a currently a certification specializing in motion blur reduction.

VRR certification currently is handled by NVIDIA and AMD, and too many cooks in a kitchen, and a possible "jack of all trades, master of none", if Blur Busters also become involved in certifying elements of VRR...

There is a Blur Busters advocacy role -- to help convince the industry (much as we did line-item for some things like general wider-availability of strobe backlights after LightBoost). May be to help press for improved FreeSync / "G-SYNC Compatible" certification with improved dynamic overdrive availability in non-native G-SYNC chipped monitors.

We are indeed starting preliminary research on strobed VRR for future models. However, it probably is about a couple years before this BlurBusters-assisted strobed VRR hits the market, due to the long engineering timelines.

VRR strobing is not available on the XG2431 -- you can only do VRR or you can do strobing -- not both simultaneously.
