After inputting 240Hz for the initial auto populated settings then selecting Vertical Total Calculator (QFT) and typing in a lower Hz, does it matter if the lower Hz rate isn’t divisible by 240?

How would I go about using 240hz with this thing (QFT) and seeing benefits? Do I have to make a new resolution? Change any values?

Are u able to say if there's a 360Hz version of this monitor coming out anytime soon? Is it in the works, or at least being discussed? 😉

Unfortunately I have to send back the XG2431 because I'm unable to hit the VT 4500 at 60Hz. Before I order a replacement I'm curious if an upgraded version will be released in the near future.

Are you using HDMI or DisplayPort? I was able to get a higher vt over HDMI, at 60hz I'm at 4635.

I'm using display port. I was able to set 4500 VT at some point. When I created a custom QFT at 59Hz the screen blacked out (no signal). Since then I haven't been able to hit 4500 VT again.

Use ToastyX reset-all.exe to uninstall all the custom modes, and try again. Don't pollute your system with repeated ToastyX mode attempts.

And always derive from a working 240Hz mode.

Remember, NEVER edit the Vertical Total. Use the newer version of ToastyX with the "Vertical Total Calculator", and edit only the refresh rate (Vertical Total Calculator).

What do u mean derive from a working 240Hz mode? Should the edited refresh rate be devisible by 240?

No that's not what I meant. I meant don't randomly change numbers in ToastyX.

Use the existing numbers of the existing 240 Hz mode that already works on your unit, and use Vertical Total Calculator on those numbers. Don't create a new 240 Hz mode from scratch. If necessary, you can screenshot the existing 240 Hz mode and copy all the numbers when creating another mode slot. No touching any number except Hz.

I wish ToastyX was a bit easier, but it's an amazing tool that turns complex EDIDs into a doable DIY task.

In theory, an even easier QFT-style Strobelight could do the duty. ToastyX has told me he would accept an API for a new ToasyX 2.0, so that I can create utilities that creates QFT modes, and then uses an API to ToastyX to automatically create it. This would make life even easier.

Even better yet, is if I can convince a manufacturer to support QFT directly from monitor menus! (I'm getting minor headway for a future model, no promises. Discussion is almost as hard as convincing a manufacturer to unlock 60 Hz single strobe).

Will it cause any instability issues if the modified Hz isn’t divisible by the original Hz?
