Unfortunately, the AW2524H has bad response times and is not well suited for 500Hz.
Who's testing results are those?
On RTINGS for example, response time of Dell Alienware AW2524H 500Hz are great.

It's all relative. I have seen 500fps 500Hz on LCD, but it does it more inefficiently than OLED can, and still not as clear as PureXP strobing.

500fps 500Hz LCD is not yet not twice as clear as 240fps 240Hz OLED, due to the non-zero GtG. In a perfect GtG=0 situation, doubling frame rate would perfectly halve display motion blur. So GtG is throttling refresh rate race somewhat.

Now that being said, it's impressive we have 500Hz LCDs. It was a pipe dream in year 2012. It's reality today.

I imagine a BlurBuster Certified 2.0 240hz OLED monitor would then put every other blur-reduction technology to shame, like DyAC+ and ULMB2 since crosstalk shouldnt exist in OLED displays.

There are some technological constraints that is forcing separate rules for OLED and LCD;

Blur Busters Approved for OLED and Blur Busters Approved for LCD will be under different criteria, due to limitations of the respective technologies. OLED is a fantastic blur busting technology with a different feel, but 1ms MPRT on an OLED is, sadly, not yet possible on current 240Hz panel technologies.

Even the mere existence of 4ms MPRT BFI on a 240Hz OLED, would actually qualify under the OLED rules for Blur Busters Approved. I will put up a page about the pros/cons of the OLED vs LCD versions of Blur Busters Approved.

We have also observed that many people prefer 4ms MPRT OLED over 1ms MPRT LCD strobing, so there's a new "biasing factor" involved, due to the different motionfeels of OLED vs LCD -- there is also a preference-based factor.

I am pushing hard for 1ms MPRT OLED but it is going to be later this decade for that one...

There will be an upcoming table chart published on BlurBusters of the respective pros/cons of the OLED vs LCD versions of Blur Busters Approved, acknowledging the different blur busting capabilities of both. For example, OLED produces much better 60Hz single-strobe that doesn't flicker as badly as LCD 60Hz single-strobe, because OLED BFI strobe is a rolling-strobe effect (like CRT). Another example is that OLED GtG is so bleepingly fast, there's never strobe crosstalk on OLED at any BFI frequency. So there's some pros/cons with the applicables for different people, that make OLED BFI superior to LCD strobe, and some attributes that LCD strobe becomes superior to OLED BFI.

Keep tuned for Blur Busters Approved 240Hz OLED announcements, if your priority is OLED quality over LCD strobe. If you prefer 1ms MPRT or less, then you will want to stick with the XG2431. I do guarantee BFI at 60 and 120Hz for any Blur Busters Approved OLED, however -- those are now mandatory lineitems now. However, BFI strobe may not be available at 240Hz OLED. As it stands now, no 240Hz WOLED has a BFI feature that works at both 60Hz and 120Hz -- and I am about to change that. But I am bound by the limitations of the OLED backlplane.

Yeah, I saw it the day he uploaded his video about this monitor and to me it sounded more like he's disappointed because he expected more from 500Hz.
But generally, the monitor isn't bad and having 500Hz is an upgrade.

I'll hold out for the Asus 540Hz TN panel. The price of the Alienware 500Hz and its response times make it hard to believe anyone would want to buy it -- many pro gamers/streamers got it for free because of sponsorships. The Asus 360Hz PG27AQN seems like a much better buy at that price range.

I'm definitely looking forward to having a 500+Hz LCD. For now, I'll stick with the XG2431 and my 360Hz.

Hello, I'm experiencing a colour issue with this monitor, increasing digital vibrance in the Nvidia control panel messed up black/grey in fullscreen games, and purple pixels start to appear in the black/grey areas. Any help with this?
