I have had this monitor for about 1-2 months now and I am still getting eye strain/fatigue whilst using it. This is my first IPS pannel and I am wondering what I can do to fix it?

I am currently using 35% brightness on the monitor with 60 black eq and Pure xp set to off. I have set red to 95 and blue to 91 on the colour scaling's and nothing seems to help.

I am not sure what I can do to fix this considering my old monitor was a VIewsonic elite TN 144hz monitor which I used to run at brighter and at 100% digital vibrance on nvidia. This monitor I barley have it at 70% cause it hurts my eyes so much.
I had similar issues even though I only had the monitor for a few days. I found that turning on PureXP helped reduced the brightness to a reasonable level and the headaches lessened.

Think I am just going to sell/return this monitor as it is extremly overhyped imo and the colours are way to distracting. My other TN pannel (XG240R) actually had MORE clarity and was easier to see people in games like CSGO due it not having ips glow. I guess I can see a reason why most FPS players stick to TN vs IPS these days considering how much random uneeded glow IPS monitors give.

Does anyone know how to access the service menu on this XG2431? Mine arrived today with the factory seal on the box broken. If the monitor was used before, I wanna check for how long.
Try turning the monitor off first. Hold the Menu button and turn the monitor on while you keep holding the menu button. Pressing the menu button again should pop up the service menu (at least this is how it's done on older Viewsonic models)
I found how to access the service menu. I had to press and hold the middle menu button (There are 5 menu buttons). Unfortunately, there is no indication of how long the backlight has been running.

Nice, a panel confirmation. XG2431 uses BOE MV238FHM-NG2. Same as AOC 24G2ZU.

Those are some interesting settings to play around in there.

Why was Chief claiming that the Viewsonic has a Innolux panel instead? Always thought the XG2431 had a different panel compared to the rest of the 23.8" 240hz monitors.
BOE and Innolux aren't related iirc? Or has Viewsonic changed up the panel between newer / older units? We need more confirmations!

The TFT Central review which is only available for early access also had listed the same panel. This is a quote mentioning it.

The XG2431 is based on a so-called ‘Fast IPS’ panel from AU Optronics (M238FHM-NG2) with a quoted 1ms G2G response time. There are 3 levels of overdrive control available in the OSD menu via the ‘Response Time’ setting to help you tweak and optimise performance

If this is a 6 bit +Hi-FRC monitor, then why is FRC turned off?
Could that be causing the eyestrain some people are having?
What happens if you turn it on?

I can't turn it on. https://streamable.com/pybm3i

This monitor causes me eyestrain too. The 1st time i used the monitor, I blamed the eyestrain i got on normal tiredness. Today is my second time using the monitor and after spending those few minutes recording that video, I immediately got eyestrain. It's not tiredness cause i literally just woke up and i was feeling great before using the monitor.

Before someone asks, I'm not a fan of strobing so, PureXP was turned off.

I've also checked my display and its using the AU Optronics M238FHM-NG2 and it was purchased around the Black Friday stock.. so not sure about it.

Chief? Any word about this?
I can't tag him.

What happens if you turn on "burn in" and then re-enter the factory menu? Do you have access to those options afterwards?
It seems strange that you have no access to the FRC or Overdrive (OD) setting there.
