Hello Blur Busters.
I was in the hunt for a long term gaming monitor and bought the Acer XB273UGX 240/270hz 1440p model. While the display is fantastic I have been "unlucky" to get 2 displays with pixel faults, minor deal perhaps as I can get new ones during "free return policy".
My biggest gripe is that with VRB (motion handling) active I think the display is slightly too dark for my liking but its still 269 nits according to reviews.
I looked at recommended displays and found the Viewsonic 1080p display but with the first mode that display is around 275 nits so probably not that great of improvement let alone going down to 1080p as I would like to keep 27" since I was using a 32" entry model before this display.
Is there any display that you could recommend me?
Im debating back and forth between going down to 1080p which would enable me to get the XL2746S which seem to have incredible brightness and motion handling but the trade-off is colors and 1080p. I bought a ridicilous overpowered GPU for 1080p gaming and wonder if its going to look way to pixel-lated as I always tune up sharpness in overlays when I game.
Display is 100% for gaming, mainly fast paced shooters where clarity and visibility is the most important thing.
In the past Ive used an old-ish 1080p 144hz Asus TN panel and to be honest I didnt think the colors was that bad. I mean I tend to pull up brightness, contrast and play with colors in overlays anyway to achieve the best visibility. Maybe I would think so if I went "back".
I cant really wait months for the EVE-display to hit the market, its been postponed a few times already and last April is way too far waiting for me.
Thank you
Something better than XB273UGX?

Asus announced the PG279QM at CES. Not sure when it is launching though.

is it too dark for you when both od and vrb are on normal rather than extreme? for me it's fine.. any brighter and eeeeek my eyes
Re: Something better than XB273UGX?
Yes, with both on normal I think its too dark.
I have passed the 30 mark and have refractive error on my eyes so its getting blurry fast even with glasses.
Maybe I give the XL2746S a go, I have small pixel errors anyway so keeping it for this price is a no go.
