Hi guys currently I have the BENQ XL2746S monitor and reaching the no return date. I have been debating with the idea of going back to a 25 inch 1080P since my primary use for this monitor is FPS games . I think the BENQ is fast , I don't have much to compare to , also not sure if my current configuration is optimal for the games I am playing.
Primarily I play Warzone and Cold War I don't think I will be hitting the 360 FPS ceiling , at least in Warzone Cold War I might be able to get close .
Current CPU/GPU Configuration:
10900K @ 5.0 GHZ all cores
EVGA FTW3 3090 rtx
I wish I had more technical benchmarks from the BENQ to judge against the Alienware but I can't find much on the BENQ at all so I am having an issue making a decision.
I currently have been playing with AMA and DyAc+ and have ran the UFO tests , it seems that DyAc+ makes the image blurry a bit whereas turning it off gets rid of it. I am not sure of the optimal configuration I have been browsing around not sure if I did everything correctly but was running at 182Hz with VT 1350 but it just didn't feel right might have make an error on the configuration IDK .
I am not 100% sure about going from a 27 inch screen to a 25 (24.5) as I am getting older and the vision is not what it used to be. I figured since I have monitor mounts that reach to my face I could just move it closer ?
Also right now the Alienware is on sale and pretty much almost the same price as the BENQ
What do you guys/gals think?? help an OG gamer plz
Keep the BENQ XL2746S or return and the buy Alienware AW2521

Re: Keep the BENQ XL2746S or return and the buy Alienware AW2521
Hi, about visibility and 27 panel: I'm old too(31 years, for competitive games old )) and play CS GO on faceit(level 9) and factor of visibility is important for me. I'm using Asus VG279QM, before I had Asus VG248QE and I could see very easy on TN panel with 24, on Asus vg279qm I see good due to big sizes of models on 27 panel, but it's become a bit harder on contrast IPS panel. I had experience to use Acer vg252qx, and after 27 Asus panel it become very hard to see on IPS 24.5 panel. So theoretically I mean right now you have best visibility on 27 240hz TN panel and better think twice going to 24.5 IPS panel, but it was example according to CS GO, idk exactly how it would be in Warzone or Cold War.. but visibility should be worse anyway on IPS.

thanks for the input , I am worried about the same thing I am leaning towards keeping the BENQ or maybe return it wait till they come out with 27 inch 360 , 480 etc . I do have a 32 inch 1440P G7 I could game on for now but is too big for FPS games. Or maybe try to do some extensive testing of configurations on my BENQ.

I would keep the Benq.
I'm still wavering on and off about buying the XL2746S, but I'm trying to be patient for the new 60hz Single Strobe monitors first.

I can tell you that you are only three months away from the first one in retail stock.Falkentyne wrote: ↑31 Jan 2021, 12:11I would keep the Benq.

FHD resolution GPU scaled 1:1 with Nvidia control panel or AMD equivalent, result 24" FHD native, sharp, not interpolated.Obiicannoli wrote: ↑30 Jan 2021, 09:34I do have a 32 inch 1440P G7 I could game on for now but is too big for FPS games.

But current curved monitors distort geometry in corners even from the optimal viewpoint, because curve is only at horizontal axi, verticaly is flat. Try whit a circle image or 45º straight line, Center Vs Corner.

Curved monitor is a detriment for cad. Why would you want something to bend lines that are supposed to be straight? I'd always be doubling checking lines to make sure I drew them correct.
