Is this monitor worth buying, or would a 1440p 165hz be better for the price?
Yes ofcourse, I used a 60, 75, 144 and 165Hz monitors, even the newer ones.
They don't come close to how 240Hz 2K feels, it's just sharp and smooth and faster with low input lag, there's noticeable jitters/microstutters with 165Hz but with 240Hz they get cleaned out and the image clarity is superior and responsive.

There is a debate whether or not 165Hz vs 240Hz makes a difference, I say yes, some say no but I can definitely feel it.

I play CS:GO, Rainbow Six Siege and Valorant, all 3 games require you to be at your best, I believe in 240Hz and soon higher refresh rate monitors.
There is, but the most benefit I get in shooters is from lower input lag. This monitor delivers VERY well in the input lag area.

Can someone explain to me why I get 12 bit on 144hz mode when everywhere it is advertised at 10 bit? Should I use it? Or may it's better to go 10 bit at 200hz using CRU like someone listed on page 2?

Because lack of DSC support I suppose, cant do 240Hz 10bit nor 4K 120Hz on PS5..

No, I know that, my question is why is it 12 bit 144hz on my monitor while it says 10 bit 144hz elsewhere. And whether or not it actually provides any advantage over 10 bit. From my personal opinion, 12 bit might look better than 10 bit but I'm not sure if i can tell. But 10 bit over 8 bit is very noticeable. Is it worth dropping 55hz for 12 bit, or better to stick with 10 bit 199hz?

And where are you noticing the difference between 8 bit and 10 bit? I would highly advise you to check again, because your mind might be playing tricks on you. You might be able to see that colors are a tad bit deeper, but the main difference is the lack of banding.

I'd say anyone that is going to buy this monitor for 10 bit at 144hz should just buy a 4K 144Hz monitor that supports 10 bit. There is no point in buying a 240Hz monitor at this resolution and price to set it to 144Hz. You might as well buy a 4K 144Hz monitor for the same price.

I do not know what banding is. But the picture on the monitor, color or not, just looks way better on 10-bit than on 8-bit. It is really clear, and smooth. I much prefer 10-bit set. I had the same experience on my previous 240hz 1080p monitor, 10-bit just looks much better in videos, text, regular windows use.

I dual boot windows into 240hz 8 bit lol. I had my reasons for the 240hz part. The monitor was also on sale at a much cheaper price than any 4k 144hz monitor.

Bit of a bump..

I'm considering replacing my xl2730 1440p 144hz monitor with the AW2721d. I'm a tad concerned though as a few years ago I grabbed the pg279q and found that I struggled to use it in some fast paced games as well as counter strike, etc. I understand IPS has come quite a bit since then however.

My primary concern is really just getting something that performs as well as my previous xl2730 in games such as counter strike, etc. I've also considered the Dell s2721dgf if anyone has any opinions on that.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
