BenQ XL2546K 240hz vs Alienware AW2521H 360hz

I thought i knew it. I was about to buy the BenQ XL2546K as a upgrade for my Viewsonic XG2402 144hz monitor. Cause I want a monitor with the lowest inputlag possible for PUBG, MW and Quake Live. ( I'm going to buy a 3080 TI or 3080 when there's one available)
You guys where very positive about the XL2546K inpullagwise and Fr33thy on youtube also. (

Now Fr33thy made a new video where he recommends the Alienware 360hz AW2521H over the XL2546K ! Not just for the IPS colors ( I don't care about IPS) but also cause of lower inputlag! ( and higher refresh rate!) (

If I'm not mistaken I have seen Chief BLur Buster also been very positive about the new IPS panels also.

Is not very convincing cause I don't get the minor details!
Can u guys help me out what monitor is best for lowest inputlag possible for PUBG, MW and Quake Live if u don't care about how good a game looks.

If you don’t care about picture quality, I would go with the Benq. It’s the most famous monitor in esports scene and particularly for fps games. It’s a safe bet, recommended by almost everyone.
Keep in mind those 360hz panels are not true 360hz by any means. Response time doesn’t really keep up with the refresh rate, compliance is a bit far from 100%. To me those 360hz are marketing traps for the moment. It’s even more the case when you know they are ips, still inferior to tn in rt. You’d need to have constant superior to 360 fps otherwise you may have to use gsync with the added input lag. And in general having inferior fps to refresh rate feels bad (at least in my little experience).
You could still go with the 360hz but you’d take a risk being an early adopter in something that screams marketing fish. Having 360hz ips before 360hz tn is a red flag to me.

Something that you can praise new IPS panels for is being able to slightly lower input lag, the Alienware and the Asus respectively have -0.6 and -0.7ms of input lag compared to the Benq, this is one of the reasons why Fr33thy bought the Asus in the first place, all he does is latency testings and high refresh rates are exactly what he needs to get more consistent results.
That being said 360hz monitors are less sensitive to tearing due faster scanout and they have better color accuracy and a gsync module.
When it comes to response times however, in my opinion, it's a little bit too early to buy a 360hz monitor.
I'm sure that newer panel revisions will improve response times significantly but as of today if I was looking for a 360hz monitor I'd wait a couple more years.

New monitors have very low input lag, low to the point you don't have to worry about it, also forget how much latency gsync or strobing adds. We're in an era where competitive gaming is getting bigger and everybody wants that slight advantage over its opponent - people seem to think input lag is that dirty little secret ingredient... thats for another topic.
All the data and charts you can find online are pretty much talking details, dismissing the fact whether you can tell the difference or not or does it even matter. It would be best to experience it ofc.
But if we're talking details TN panels have
slightly better response times, but you should consider IPS (fast newer gen) since it is more future-proof option.
If you need lowest input lag PG259QN is the one for you, maybe even AW2521H. From what I read Zowie still does not take the lead at it.
Some 240Hz options would be MAG251RX, XG270, XB273GX, VG279QM/VG259QM
Do you know why you want XL2546K or you heard somewhere its the best? Do you need a strobing monitor?

hey @discorz , what you would say regarding the asus VG279QL1A , MAG251RX , omen x25f and newer monitors with next gen ips painel for competitive csgo?
the 2546k i discard because of future , im in doubt regarding 1440p and 1080p 144hz or 240 hz(with a ryzen 3600 , 16gb and rx 480 8gb , 300 to 400 fps on csgo) , i look and a lot of people bashing the VG279QM/VG259QM line , saying the msi MAG251RX or OPTIX MAG274QRF is the way to go , but i never tested the acer family or those new gen ips painels on the asus

I play an old FPS game, Medal of Honor Allied Assault.
I've used the XL2546K for a few months. DyAc+ helped a bit for clarity but only marginally to me, because I would not notice I turned it off by mistake at some point. With or without DyAc+, to me it felt smoother and more responsive than my previous 240Hz monitors.
Now I've been using the PG259QN 360Hz for a few months (I have the frames for my game, I use G-Sync, vSync=Fast, and I cap FPS just below Hz with 3 Hz headroom).
For my game (which I'm proficient at), 360Hz gives a 'significantly' smoother experience than the XL2546K, this is very obvious to me and undeniable. I gave away my XL2546K to a friend and never looked back.

It would all depend on your needs and how serious of a competitive player you are. What is your current/previous monitor?
If u're not planning to upgrade from RX 480 and u want highest framerates definitely go for 1080p. 1440p ~165Hz would require higher-end gpu with for demandig games.
I have the RX 580, R5 3600 and VG279QM, I can get 280 fps easily in csgo. That monitor is not awful, infact it would be perfect if asus tuned some things a bit better. It is very good for ~200+hz/fps
competitive gaming, but below that starts to get funky (only if u're using ELMB/S).

well i mainly play csgo , im on a 60hz so is holding me back , im looking for the MAG274QRF-QD , msi MAG251RX ,vg279q1a , VG258QM as a option(350 to 450 euros) , the acer family in europe is outdated , 1440p 144hz or 1080p? the best regarding imput lag?

Most competitive players have 1080p 240Hz+. I have not experienced MAG251RX but seems more premium and faster when compared to VG25/279QM @240Hz. So maybe that would be a good pick for u. I would personally avoid TN panels.
